"Miral" is based on the life of director Julian Schnabel's Palestinian girlfriend, Rula Jebreal, and is adapted from her 2004 novel of the same name. It stars Freida Pinto as a conflicted Palestinian girl growing up in Israel.

Things were pretty busy for me last week, since I had the chance to see three of the films premiering and interview the writer and director for one of them. I saw “Paul,” “Limitless,” and “The Lincoln Lawyer,” all of which were reasonably enjoyable.

Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Josh Brolin turned out to support to director Julian Schnabel on Monday as he premiered his politically-charged new film at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The movie, based on the life of Schnabel's Palestinian girlfriend, Rula Jebreal, and adapted from her 2004 novel of the same name, stars Freida Pinto as a conflicted Palestinian girl growing up in Israel.

Schnabel's plans for the U.S. screening came under attack from Jewish leaders, who called on U.N. officials to axe the premiere. They claimed it was "clearly a politicized decision" to screen...

Freida Pinto showed up at the 18th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival on Tuesday looking sweet in a floral beige dress.

The actress stars in Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and has an upcoming role in Julian Schnabel's "Miral."

In the Woody Allen film, two couples find their lives turned upside down by their unfulfilled longings. "Miral" is a drama centered on an orphaned Palestinian girl growing up in the wake of the first Arab-Israeli war who finds herself drawn into the conflict.
