Oscar Nomination Reaction: The Snubs, Surprises & Who Shouldn't Have Been Nominated

January 23rd, 2009 9:55am EST
The Dark Knight

Slumdog Millionaire
The time has come, after several months of campaigning and voting, we're finally set for the big day. No, not the inauguration. Please. We're talking about Oscar morning.

All the returns are in, the precursor season is over, so there's not excuses left. Without delay, here are my final Oscar Predictions.

Okay, one delay. I should note that I hate being right. I hate getting predictio...

Writer's Viewpoint: A Visit To 'Inside The Actor's Studio' With Josh Brolin

December 2nd, 2008 1:53pm EST
Josh Brolin
There is always a peculiar aura in the air when James Lipton shows up on my television screen; I am quite transfixed with pure unadulterated fascination. Having said that, it should come to no one's surprise that I did not think twice when given the chance to attend a taping of "Inside the Actor's Studio" and be in the presence of Mr. Lipton once again (I had once seen him walk by me at a New York Mets game. Although I do hold out hope, I doubt he remembers me.)

Recorded on a blistering cold (well, not quite but it sounds good for effect) evening at Pace University, the guest of honor ...

November 12th, 2008 9:52am EST
Revolutionary Road
This year's Oscar race isn't very deep with talent, and at this point there are probably only eight films with a legitimate shot at getting a nod for Best Picture. But those that have a chance at a nomination also have a great chance of winning.

Every year, film fans are tormented by the true snobs who catch all these possible nominees before the big awards show att...
