The weekend following Independence Day here in America has become a must-perform spot on the calendar for movie studios. This year, the 4th of July lands on a Friday, leaving us bereft of new releases (although Transformers: Age of Extinction, which came out on the 27th, should do nicely). Lady Gaga is set to make her big screen movie debut in the upcoming "Men In Black" sequel, according to a Brazilian movie news website.

Editors claim Will Smith let it slip that the singer would appear in the film during a promotional trip to Rio last week.

He reportedly told ElCorilloRD.com, "We have a couple of celebrity cameos, but I cannot reveal who they are. We must keep as a surprise that Lady Gaga appears."

The website reports Smith has been told not to reveal any of the other cameos lined up for the film, which will feature Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones and Emma Thompson as alien...

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return to the kooky world of the top-secret government agents who protect our planet from hostile aliens in the third entry of the "Men in Black" film series.

In the trailer, J (Smith) is informed that his partner has been dead for 40 years, so he travels back to 1969 to find the younger version of K, played by Josh Brolin.

"Men In Black III" will be the first film in the franchise to be presented in 3D. During filming last summer, Smith made headlines for irritating New York City residents with his massive trailer, which he parked on the streets of Soho.

Will Smith is baffled by the controversy surrounding the location of the massive trailer he has been calling home while shooting Men in Black III on the streets of New York, insisting it's the same mobile home he's always used when filming in the city.

Uma Thurman and Rosario Dawson were among the stars honoured at the Cannes Film Festival in France on Thursday for their contributions to independent moviemaking.

Director Jane Campion was also recognised for her new film "Sleeping Beauty," as was the picture's producer, Jessica Brentnall, according to the Associated Press.

Dawson, who has also starred in a number of mainstream films, including "Men in Black II" and "Sin City," insists she will never forget her acting roots.

Ageing 'it girl' Betty White has landed a cameo role in the new "Men in Black" movie.

Website BloodyDisgusting.com has confirmed the former "Golden Girls" star has signed on for a small part opposite Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin.

Meanwhile, Emma Thompson and Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger are in negotiations to play Agent Oh and Devil Girl in the film, which is expected to hit cinemas in 3-D in 2012.

The duo will reteam as Kay and Jay in a 3D sequel.

So far the hit franchise has made well over $1 billion globally.

The last "Men In Black" film hit cinemas in 2002.

Last month it was rumored that Sacha Baron Cohen and Josh Brolin would be starring in the film as two new lead characters.

Sacha Baron Cohen, Josh Brolin and "Flight Of The Conchords" star Jemaine Clement are frontrunners to land lead roles in the third "Men In Black" movie, according to Internet gossip.

The trio are reportedly in talks to replace Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in the alien-fighting action comedy franchise.

BloodyDisgusting.com reports Brit Cohen and Clement are both being considered for an agent called Yaz.
