Much-hyped movie Snakes On A Plane slithered to the top of the box office this weekend but with a more modest $15.25 million (including 10pm showings Thursday) opening weekend than expected. The film had received huge buzz on the Internet before it's opening, with some people predicting box office receipts of up to the $30 million mark for its opening weekend.

Summary: Stripped of their wealth and forced to fend for themselves when the multi-million-dollar cosmetics company inherited from their father suffers due to controversy, two sisters who have never known the simple life must finally find out how the other half lives.

Hollywood Records will be releasing the first of a collection of CDs titled "(Lip Smackers presents) Girl Next" on August 15th. The premiere CD includes songs from today's biggest female recording artists like Hilary Duff & Haylie Duff, Kelly Clarkson, Vanessa Anne Hudgens from High School Musical and Aly & AJ as well as exclusive new material from Hannah Montana, Hayden Panettiere and Jordan Pruitt.
