Pierce Brosnan remains convinced the bisexual scenes in his movie The Matador should stay cut - despite the outstanding success of gay cowboy romance Brokeback Mountain. Lawrence's Big Momma's House 2 stormed to the number one spot with a surprise $28 million opening weekend take. Nanny McPhee came in second with a $14.1 million debut.

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan has ruled out starring in a film version of his 1980s TV show Remington Steele because he believes it would take his career backwards. Brosnan, who shot to international stardom as Steele before playing James Bond, is still in talks with his film company Irish Dreamtime about bringing the movie to the big screen.
