Superman has enemies surrounding him in the new Man of Steel trailer, as he faces an Earth afraid of him and a threat from his home world of Krypton.

The fourth trailer for the Zack Snyder film, Superman (Henry Cavill) apparently faces the Earth's military in the desert, but the real threat comes later when Kryptonian General Zod (Michael Shannon) appears with the rest of his troops.

Kevin Costner, who plays Superman's adopted father Jonathan Kent, gives him a choice: "One day, you're going to have to make a choice - whether to stand proud in front of the human race, or not."

The future of the struggling Superman franchise is alive and well, according to the latest trailer for Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot, Man of Steel.

The film re-tells the story of how Jor-El (Russell Crowe) sends his son Kal-El to Earth to escape the destruction of their home planet of Krypton.

The boy is taken in and raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane), discovering that he has extraordinary powers and struggling to figure out what his purpose is on Earth.

British actor Henry Cavill is pushing his body "beyond its normal limits" as he prepares to play Superman in "Man Of Steel," eating a massive 5,000 calories a day to bulk up for the action man role.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Laurence Fishburne has been tapped to play the hard-nosed editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, Perry White, in the new Superman film Man of Steel.

The film will also star Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's adoptive parents Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent, and Michael Shannon as antagonist General Zod.
