Jessica Chastain's 'Mama' Muse Was Crystal Castles Star

Jessica Chastain took inspiration from Crystal Castles rocker Alice Glass for her role in new horror movie Mama.

The actress listened to punk icons Lou Reed and the Misfits and even took bass lessons in preparation for her role as musician Annabel in the spooky hit movie.

Now she has revealed her real-life rocker muse was Canadian star Glass, admitting she even copied the singer's jet-black bob hairstyle.

She tells MTV, "It's on the page (in the script) that Annabel plays punk, and she plays bass in a punk band. She's not like (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo character) Lisbeth Saland...

Two Jessica Chastain Films Dominate Weekend Box Office, Schwarzenegger Action Flick Bombs

New horror movie "Mama" made a surprise debut at the weekend box office, coming in at number one with takings of $28.1 million.

The foreboding thriller, produced by Guillermo Del Toro and directed by Andy Muschiette, centers on a loving couple who learn that their two adopted nieces have brought a dark secret into their home. Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau star.

Chastain currrently stars in the top two films in the country: "Zero Dark Thirty" about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden came in at number two with $17.6 million.
