'The Expendables' And The Top 10 Ensemble Casts

The Expendables 2 comes out this weekend, featuring an ensemble cast of action stars from the past 30 years. It got us thinking: What were the best ensemble casts in recent films? Here's our list:

The Magnificent Seven: Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn, Brad Dexter, Horst Buchholtz. This western remake of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" featured some of the greatest action stars of their generation - certainly an Expendables of the time. It's the second most shown film on television, next to "The Wizard of Oz."

Steve McQueen Biopic Planned

Plans are underway for a new Hollywood movie about the life of late screen legend Steve McQueen.

Producers Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters have purchased the rights to 2008 biography Steve McQueen: Portrait Of An American Rebel by Marshall Terrill and plan to transform the book into a major motion picture, according to Variety.com. The film will focus on McQueen's glittering movie career, beginning with his un-credited role in 1956's Somebody Up There Likes Me.

Late tough guy Lee Marvin has topped a new poll naming the biggest movie badasses. Marvin's role as Walker in '60s cult classic Point Blank tops the list in Maxim magazine.

Sharing second place are actors Jamison Newlander, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, all honored for their roles in vampire movie The Lost Boys.

Legendary hard man Charles Bronson's performance in The Magnificent Seven rounds out the fop five.

American TV veteran Robert Vaughn finds getting into his character as a conman on TV hit The Hustle easy, because he has spent his life tricking directors and producers in Hollywood. Vaughn, 74, plays Albert Stroller in the hit British TV drama, as part of a team of London-based hustlers. Vaughn says, "I'll let you into a little secret - I've been known to do a little conning in my time as well.

"I spent years conning people. I did it constantly during my first five years in TV, in America in the 1950s.

'Gone With The Wind,' 'Magnificent Seven' Stuntman Jack Williams Dead At 85

Jack Williams, a revered Hollywood stuntman who appeared in Gone With The Wind and countless western classics, has died in California. He was 85. Acclaimed as the best horse stuntman in Hollywood, Williams was famous for perfecting the horse fall for battle and fight sequences.

During his heyday in the 1940s and 1950s, he worked exclusively with his own trained horse, Coco. He made his mark in 1936's The Charge of The Light Brigade and went on to pull stunts in films like Fort Apache, Rio Grande, The Magnificent Seven and The Alamo.
