A brand-new trailer for next month's action-packed Mad Max: Fury Road has arrived, and the new promo finally reveals that the film actually has a plot and isn't an adrenaline-filled car chase through the desert with vehicles that look like they were inspired by items in Christian Grey's Red Room of Pain.

George Miller returns as director of the franchise he started with 1979's "Mad Max," which launched Mel Gibson's career.

After over two decades of "development hell" Miller's third sequel is set to hit theaters 30 years after the last in the series, "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome."

The 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Trailer Is Action Packed, Full Of Fire
Warner Bros. released the first trailer for its post-apocalyptic film "Mad Max: Fury Road" during Comic Con in San Diego, Calif., over the weekend.

"My name is Max. My world is fire and blood," says Tom Hardy, who plays the titular character.

And then the car chases and fighting commence. Director George Miller recently told Reuters that the movie is essentially a "105-minute chase scene through the wasteland." And the trailer shows just that.

'Mad Max: Fury Road' To Undergo Re-Shoots In November

The highly anticipated post-apocalyptic film Mad Max: Fury Road requires a series of re-shoots.

Filming finished on the movie last December after six months of shooting but director George Miller has told the cast they need to re-assemble in Australia for three weeks of additional shooting this November.

Among the actors who must return include Tom Hardy, who is taking over the titular role from Mel Gibson, who appeared in the three previous 'Mad Max' movies, and also stars Nicholas Hoult and Charlize Theron.

British model-turned-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley reportedly gave up a job hosting a fashion TV show after she landed a role in the new Mad Max movie.

The Transformers: Dark of the Moon star was picked to present Project Runway All Stars, according to program insiders but backed out just weeks before filming began last month when she was confirmed to appear in long-delayed blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road.

Huntington-Whiteley flew out to Namibia to shoot the film and TV bosses were left scrambling to find a last-minute replacement, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

Charlize Theron has chopped off her pretty blonde locks, but don't worry. It's for her new "Mad Max" movie. Theron plays Furiosa in "Mad Max: Fury Road," which is set to start shooting this summer after a two-year delay.

Theron has been attached to the project since 2009. Teaming up with Tom Hardy, she said: "It's been three years. It's time to skin this cat already!"

Palmer was forced to drop out of the delayed project due to reported scheduling conflicts, and her departure gives Kershaw the chance to make her acting debut opposite Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

An insider tells the Daily Telegraph that the model will portray a post-apocalyptic woman caged like a bird for her beauty.

Charlize Theron has vowed never to rush into performing dangerous stunts after an accident on the set of 2004's Aeon Flux almost left her paralyzed.

The actress was completing a series of back flips for the sci-fi action movie when she landed awkwardly on her neck, herniating a disc dangerously close to her spinal chord.
