Check Out The 'Mad Max' Trilogy On Blu-ray June 4

In anticipation of the upcoming "Mad Max: Fury Road," whet your appetite with the first three films from the "Mad Max" franchise.

The new film takes a new look at the post-apocalyptic world, and Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig and the Road War begins.

The three previous films are all set in the near-future in Australia, and Mel Gibson stars as Max Rockatansky, a highway cop traveling through the Outback in a society descending into chaos.

Mad Max, the sci-fi franchise that introduced Mel Gibson to the world, will come together for the first time as a Blu-ray collection when Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) debuts the Mad Max Trilogy on June 4.

The three films – "Mad Max" (1979), "Mad Max Road Warrior" (1982) and "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" (1985) – are all set in the near-future in Australia. From the very first film, Oscar winner George Miller proved a master at creating the gritty, bleak dystopian world and staging the incredible car stunts and crashes in the era when stuntmen, not computers, achieved the effects.

Aussie supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw has replaced actress Teresa Palmer in director George Miller's "Mad Max" revamp.

Palmer was forced to drop out of the delayed project due to reported scheduling conflicts, and her departure gives Kershaw the chance to make her acting debut opposite Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

An insider tells the Daily Telegraph that the model will portray a post-apocalyptic woman caged like a bird for her beauty.

Cameras on "Mad Max: Fury Road," which was to have started filming last year, are expected to roll this summer.

Charlize Theron has vowed never to rush into performing dangerous stunts after an accident on the set of 2004's Aeon Flux almost left her paralyzed.

The actress was completing a series of back flips for the sci-fi action movie when she landed awkwardly on her neck, herniating a disc dangerously close to her spinal chord.

The film was shut down for eight weeks to allow Theron to recover and doctors feared the mishap would leave the actress with limited mobility. She recovered and now accepts that she should leave the heavy stunt work to the professionals.

Mel Gibson To Host 'Mad Max' Event

Actor Mel Gibson is set to host a special event in Hollywood honoring his Mad Max movies.

All three of the futuristic films will be screened at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles next month as part of the American Cinematheque tribute.

The veteran star, whose personal life has dominated headlines over the years, will appear onstage and take part in a question and answer session with audience members, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The event will take place on January 21st.

Mel Gibson and movie veteran James Garner are plotting a sequel for western comedy Maverick. The odd couple teamed up with Jodie Foster for the 1994 movie and now they're thinking about reteaming.

Gibson says, "There's talk of doing another Maverick. Garner and I have been looking at that for a while. It'd be fun to play that character again. I think audiences would probably like to see him again too. We really cooked the first time. We've got some great ideas - I think audiences will enjoy what we've got in mind. It won't be happening immediately, but I dare say, it'll happen."

Award-winning director George Miller is set to receive an honorary degree from the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
