August 14th, 2013 1:28pm EDT
Kick-Ass 2
Former child star Chloe Grace Moretz is convinced she will have no problems slipping into more adult roles because she was propelled to fame by her gritty "Kick-Ass" character.

The teenage actress became a household name after causing a storm with her foul-mouthed part as child assassin Hit-Girl in the 2010 action comedy when she was just 13 years old.

However, Moretz is adamant she will not suffer the typical child star curse of struggling to find credibility as an adult actress because she is under no pressure to break free from a squeaky-clean onscreen image.

Moretz instead compares h...

June 25th, 2013 8:51am EDT
Colonel Stars and Stripes
Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar, producer for Kick-Ass 2, has responded to Actor Jim Carrey's very public denouncement of the film. As some may recall, Carrey's character, 'Colonel Stars and Stripes' is one of the most anticipated highlights of the movie.

However, yesterday, Carrey Tweeted that he would be withdrawing his support from the movie, on the basis that it contained so much violence, that Carrey just couldn't condone it. Carrey's sudden change of heart and radical political stance on anti-gun and anti-violence has been brought about by the tragic Sandy Hook shooting that took place ...

In 2010, director Matthew Vaughn ("X-Men: First Class") co-wrote, directed, and self-financed a superhero movie all true-blue comic book fans could believe in, one with swears, huge body counts and a 10-year-old girl who murders criminals.

Now, after a couple years of intense speculation, "Kick-Ass" is getting a sequel, and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Vaughn is shopping it to Universal as opposed to his Lionsgate partners on the previous entry. 5 Best Movies On The Humorous Side Of Child Endangerment

December 9th, 2011 10:00am EST
The Sitter Poster
Why do we love R-rated comedy? Answer: The swearing is better. This sex is more comical. The shenanigans are more extreme. What makes any R-rated comedy better? Answer: Children.

The addition of children to any hilarious movie only makes that movie more hilarious. Having kids along for the ride takes all the things we love about these films and intensifies them. Having a kid in the car during a chase scene makes the danger more real and more frightening (hence the title of this column). Swearing, the lifeblood of any R-rated comedy, seems all the more taboo when it’s done in front of kids....
