July 31st, 2010 8:15am EDT

Michelle Rodriguez is urging Hollywood bosses to come up with some new ideas because she's bored of seeing remakes and 1980s revivals hit cinemas.

Movie theatres have been bulging with big budget reboots in recent years, with new versions of "The A-Team" and "The Karate Kid" among 2010's most high profile offerings.

But the "Avatar" actress is adamant the current trend of re-imagining classic films and bringing 30-year-old ideas back to the big screen has grown tiresome.

She tells Showbizspy.com, "I think the industry needs to wake up and stop doing remakes because I'm kind of falling as...

The decision makes the film more accessible to children, but bosses at The Australian Council on Children and the Media are fuming about the change - and are urging parents to exercise caution when allow...

The remake of “The Karate Kid” starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, does not live up to the original, but it does effectively adapt the model of the story to a new setting. Jaden Smith’s character Dre, character is a bit more obnoxious and impatient than Ralph Macchio’s Daniel, mainly because he is younger though. Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'The A-Team,' 'The Karate Kid,' & More

June 7th, 2010 9:18am EDT
Karate Kid
Last week’s “Get Him to the Greek” turned out to be much funnier than I expected it would be. Jonah Hill plays a naïve record company intern tasked with watching the wild rock star Aldous Snow, portrayed by Russell Brand. It’s clear right from the beginning that Hill’s character is unable to fathom the mess he has gotten into taking care of Snow, and he quickly gives in to Snow’s party lifestyle.

Most of the film’s humor is based in the awkward interactions between Hill’s Aaron and Brand’s Aldous, with typical lowbrow laughs. However this formula just seems to fit very well for the mov...
