November 25th, 2014 6:59pm EST
Jurassic World
The first trailer for "Jurassic World," which was teased over the weekend with a 21-second promo, was released on Tuesday morning, two days earlier than planned.

The trailer was slated to debut on Thanksgiving night during the NFL football game between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, but an early leak forced Universal to scrap its plans and let it fly online.

The film follows the typical Jurassic format -- scientists mess with nature so people will go to a tropical island to see creatures that were once extinct, creatures somehow get free and try to eat people, people flee i...

Jurassic Park
The fourth installment in the Jurassic Park saga officially has a title and a release date.

Newly-titled Jurassic World was slated to begin filming in June for a planned June 2014 release, but an announcement from Universal Pictures in May said that the project had to be put on hold in order to give director Colin Trevorrow more time to prepare after Steven Spielberg, who was originally going to direct, backed out.

Jurassic Park
Production of the upcoming third sequel to Jurassic Park has been put on hold in order to give director Colin Trevorrow, who took over after Steven Spielberg backed out of the project, more time to prepare for the shoot.

Jurassic Park IV was scheduled to start filming later this month and was expected to hit theaters next June, but now it looks as though the film itself will be delayed -- possibly for good.

2010 Summer Movies Are Bad, But Past Years Have Been Worse (Video)

July 28th, 2010 11:15am EDT
Inception
As usual, the lineup for summer movies this year was star-studded and full of sequels. However, most of them have been critically panned and - even worse - they are not racking up ticket sales. Still, there have been far worse summer selections.

In an interesting pattern, it seems every 9 years there is a "stinker" summer movie slate. In 2001, our summer selections looked like this: A Knight's Tale, Pearl Harbor, Scary Movie 2, Planet of the Apes, The Mummy Returns, Swordfish, Dr. Dolittle 2, Rush Hour 2, Tomb Raider, Jurassic Park III, and Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Yikes!

Go 9 years pr...

Many question whether a fourth film is necessary, particularly following what many call a disastrous third installment in the franchise. Two Starpulse writers have strong opinions on whether making a fourth film is really what the public needs or wants:

Point

Anyone who is familiar with my opinions on sequels and my general distaste for the work of Steven Spielberg are going to be surprised to learn that I love Jurassic Park and both of its sequels. Now don't get me wrong, the act...
