Ashton Kutcher Hospitalized As He Prepared For 'jOBS' Role

Ashton Kutcher was hospitalized days before shooting the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic after adopting the businessman's "fruitarian diet" to prepare for the role.

The actor plays the lead in new movie jOBS and he did all he could to accurately portray the late Apple boffin, even changing his eating plan to include just fruits, nuts and seeds.

However, Kutcher was left "doubled over in pain" after sticking to the diet, and sought medical advice in the hospital.

He tells the Associated Press, "(The diet) can lead to some serious issues. I ended up in the hospital two days before we started...

Ashton Kutcher, whose resume includes Two and a Half Men, New Years Eve, Valentine's Day, That '70s Show and MTV's Punk'd is starring as Steve Jobs, the Apple founder and visionary who set out to change the world. It's quite a big jump in roles and many say a big stretch for the actor. Luckily, we have a first look clip of the film which was just released on ETonline.com.

The independent film jOBS, which opens in theatres April 19, will also be closing out the Sundance Film festival tomorrow.

After eight years on "That '70s Show," Ashton Kutcher is pretty good at channeling the era. We spotted the shaggy star getting into character as Steve Jobs on the set of upcoming film "Jobs." The film is being shot in location in Los Altos, California.

Jobs was the the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. until his death in October, 2011. In the 1970s, co-founder Steve Wozniak developed the highly successful personal computer, the Apple II series.
