Will Daniel Craig's Surgery Delay Latest Bond Film?

4/6/2015 10:45am EDT
Daniel Craig Has Surgery After Injuring Knee On Set Of New Bond
Secret agent James Bond is known for being a tough guy, and it seems the same can be said about current Bond actor Daniel Craig.

Craig reportedly had surgery on his knee over Easter weekend after injuring it two months ago while shooting a scene for the upcoming Bond film Spectre. The 47-year-old actor was shooting at London's Pinewood Studios when he sprained his knee.

But Craig sucked it up and kept shooting, even with the injury. The arthroscopic surgery was done in New York during a scheduled Easter break.

The surgery is being described as minor, but it's unclear if Craig will be si...

Ernst Blofeld
One of James Bond's most notorious villains may be set to make a return after producers settled a long-running legal battle over the character.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld, along with his white cat and dreams of world domination, is one of Bond's most instantly recognizable villains after appearing in films such as From Russia with Love, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice.

He was dreamed up by Bond's creator Ian Fleming with the help of Kevin McClory, the screenwriter who adapted the 007 books for cinema. Courts later ruled McClory owned substantial elements of the Bond mythos, allowing him t...

4/26/2012 11:24am EDT
Sam Worthington
Sam Worthington is the actor most likely to step into James Bond's shoes when Daniel Craig hangs up his Walther PPK, according to Britain's leading bookmaker.

Craig is currently shooting scenes for his third outing as the suave superspy in Skyfall, which is due for release in 2014, and shows no signs of retiring from the role.

However, when he eventually moves on from the 007 franchise, Avatar actor Worthington - who was born in Britain but grew up in Australia - is hot favorite to take over the coveted part, followed by English actor Tom Hardy and Shame star Michael Fassbender.

Sean Connery Fails To Show In Spanish Court

10/15/2010 6:26pm EDT
Sean Connery
Sean Connery failed to appear at a Spanish court on Friday after a judge summoned him to testify as part of a money-laundering investigation.

The actor and his wife Micheline were asked to take to the stand, but a letter from Connery explained he could not travel to Spain because of his age and unspecified health problems. The former James Bond star and his wife were named in the probe stemming from the 1998 sale of their beachfront mansion near Marbella.

The couple made $8.4 million in the sale but allegedly failed to pay $2 million to the local authority. The property was knocked down...

Happy 80th Birthday Sean Connery
Sean Connery, we salute you as you turn 80.

The veteran movie icon and one-time James Bond hits octogenarian status today and we are thrilled to pay tribute to Hollywood's great Scot.

From his humble beginnings in working class Edinburgh, Scotland, Connery has become one of his nation's favorite sons.

In over 70 films, Sean has been in more box office blockbusters than most - as well as his seven turns as 007, he has played Indiana Jones' father and enjoyed hits with modern classics like Highlander, The Untouchables, The Man Who Would Be King, The Name of the Rose and The Hunt for Red Oc...

Pierce Brosnan Says He Felt 'Shackled' By Bond Role

8/9/2010 11:00am EDT
Pierce Brosnan
Pierce Brosnan was relieved to give up his 007 status following his stint as James Bond - after realizing he had "lost his way" while playing the iconic superspy.

The Irish actor was devastated after he was replaced by Daniel Craig as the suave secret agent and admits it took several years to regain his self-belief. But now he's convinced his dismissal was for the best.

He says, "I felt very shackled by Bond and didn't want to rock the boat. You get tangled up in your own ego of how you're perceived. You can lose your way... You can be a leading man for so long and it's wonderful but t...

Is This It For James Bond? Find Out In This Week's EW

8/5/2010 9:15pm EDT
Daniel Craig As James Bond
With MGM up for auction - and no buyer in sight - the world's greatest film franchise lies in peril. This week's cover story investigates what's next for James Bond, and whether Daniel Craig has sipped his last shaken martini.

Up until last spring, it looked as if James Bond would indeed return, but after decades of invincibility, it seems as if 007 has finally been defeated, at least for the foreseeable future. What's holding up production on the next movie is the sale of MGM, which went up for auction last November and still hasn't found a buyer. Then, in July, there was more reason t...

Christopher Nolan Was Influenced By 'Bond' Films

7/11/2010 6:00pm EDT
Christopher Nolan
Film-maker Christopher Nolan has credited the James Bond franchise with providing inspiration for his sci-fi thriller Inception.

The director grew up watching the superspy series and insists the action scenes and themes found in 007 films influenced his upcoming movie, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a skilled thief who steals secrets from dreamers' subconscious minds.

Nolan explains, "The Bond influence on the film was very intentional because, for me, growing up with the Bond films - they've always stood for grand-scale action (and) stood for the promise of being taken to some place bi...

Freida Pinto: I'm Too Young To Be A Bond Girl'

4/7/2010 11:56am EDT
Freida Pinto
Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto is "flattered" by rumors linking her to a role in the new 007 movie - but insists she's not "beautiful" enough to play a Bond girl.

Pinto was recently reported to have signed up to play Daniel Craig's love interest in the next James Bond blockbuster, which will be directed by Sam Mendes. A representative for the actress dismissed the rumors, confirming Pinto has "not been approached" by Bond bosses.

And the Indian beauty, 25, is convinced she would be the wrong choice for a role in the super-spy franchise.

She tells Britain's OK! magazine, "It was...

3/23/2010 8:49am EDT
Freida Pinto
A spokesperson for Freida Pinto has denied reports the actress has signed up to be Daniel Craig's next Bond girl.

British tabloids last week fueled speculation that the "Slumdog Millionaire" star has been chosen to appear in the next 007 movie, which will be directed by Sam Mendes and set in Afghanistan.

A source told the Daily Mirror, "Freida was always the dream Bond girl, but initially she was nervous about accepting it. This is going to be the most ambitious 007 yet."

However, Pinto's rep has dismissed the stories, insisting movie bosses have not asked the actress to star in the a...

Robert Pattinson In Awe Of Friendly Pierce Brosnan

2/16/2010 7:00pm EST
Robert Pattinson In Awe Of Friendly Pierce Brosnan
Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson was impressed with Pierce Brosnan's social skills while filming their new movie - because the former James Bond star was so kind to his fans. The 23 year old spent a lot of time with Brosnan while they were in New York City shooting Remember Me.

However, while Pattinson found it difficult to deal with all of the attention from fans while out in public with his co-star, Brosnan was generous with his time when meeting devotees - and the young actor was left in awe of the smooth-talking Irishman.

Pattinson tells Vogue magazine, "He's totally recogn...

Underrated & Overrated Movie Songs

11/7/2008 1:13pm EST
Neil Young
We all know the real reason we go to the movies. It isn't the thrills or the chills, the laughs or the gaffes, the drama or Lorenzo Lamas, no; we all hit the theater to hear the music. That is, we love to hear the one big song associated with any film.

The marriage of music and movies has long been exceptional. Whether it's "Theme From a Summer's Place" or "Blame Canada", nothing raises a film's enjoyment factor quite like a good tune.

Problem is, most songs simply aren't that good. A lot of these film tunes come from a great movie and are thusly mistaken as great music when i...

3/7/2008 2:36pm EST
Star Trek
The newest entry in a popular film franchise invariably invokes feelings of anticipation and excitement from diehard fans. It also happens to raise expectations enormously for the finished product. Most of the time, when people actually get around to seeing the highly anticipated new release, their reactions are polarized. Some are enamored and fall in love with the offering, while others simply detest it. For the most part, eagerly awaited new installments in franchises like "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," and "Star Trek" are met with one of those two reactions. Rarely are they thought ...

Movie Sequels: A List Of The Best & Worst

2/7/2008 9:40am EST
Spider-Man 2
It seems every year we are inundated with dozens of sequels to films we love and those we've already forgotten about. But what are the best? What are the worst? What shouldn't have been made and what beat the original? Answers to those questions are below, but before a list of the best and worst sequels is determined a few ground rules must be established.

1. The Sequel Cannot Be Planned. There are plenty of movies where the sequel is somewhat planned (I highly doubt anybody wasn't thinking sequel during Spider-Man) but some movies are part of a planned series from day one. The mo...
