Iron Man star Robert Downey, Jr. is planning to celebrate his upcoming birthday by hosting a special screening of the new Captain America movie for 50 lucky children.

The Hollywood actor will turn 49 on 4 April (14), but instead of throwing a lavish bash for himself, he has decided to treat a group of young superhero fans to a big party instead.

Forbes magazine bosses have released their annual list of the highest-paid actors, and Downey, Jr. comes out on top thanks to Iron Man 3 and The Avengers.

He raked in an estimated $75 million (£48.3 million) in the past year, while new dad Tatum took home $60 million (£38.7 million) to come in second, ahead of Hugh Jackman, who topped $55 million (£35.4 million), and Mark Wahlberg, who came in fourth with $52 million (£33.5 million).
