Spotlight On Clive Owen

November 21st, 2009 11:00am EST
Clive Owen
Born in Coventry, West Midlands, England in October 1965, actor Clive Owen is the quintessential handsome man. Put him in any movie looking dapper and sharp or get him rolling around in the mud and dirt and he'll still come up looking amazing.

Clive has not always been on the fast track when it comes to his acting career. Starting in 1988 through 2000, he appeared and sometimes starred in a number of British television series, TV movies and films. One of those notable films was "Croupier" (1997) where he played a troubled writer who begins to work in a casino in hopes of acquiring ins...

Spike Lee's Best & Not-So-Best Films

August 11th, 2008 9:00am EDT
Spike Lee
It's difficult to rank the films of Spike Lee in order of best to worst because, quite frankly, the auteur hasn't really made a horrible film. With nearly 20 feature films under his belt and more to come (his upcoming WWII film looks promising) Lee has of course put out his share of minor works, but even the projects that failed still had enough of the director's signature characteristics-fascinating characters, intriguing dialogue, and race relation undertones-and ultimately are merely cinematic experiments gone wrong. Consider this a list of best and minor works of one of America's finest...

July 10th, 2007 10:33am EDT
Spike Lee
Maverick filmmaker Spike Lee insists he hasn't turned main stream despite finding box office success with last film Inside Man. The 2006 heist drama, which starred Denzel Washington and Clive Owen, was a massive success for Lee but he claims the film's triumph hasn't made future projects any easier to secure.

The director, who is currently working on pre-production on World War II drama Miracle At St. Anna, says, "My last feature film, Inside Man, was my most successful so far, and I was naive enough to think that meant I could go from there and make any film I wanted to make. But I w...

I remember coming from Los Angeles years ago and I was kind of famous and maybe I'd gotten kinda mellow, so I went into a deli and asked the guy behind the counter to add some extra pickles and I...
