Latifah, real name Dana Owens, will also star in the TV film, "Life Support," which is based on the life of writer-director Nelson George's sister. The star will play a reformed crack addict-turned AIDS activist.

The Da Vinci Code big-screen adaptation has proved a turn-off for moviegoers in the United Kingdom, recording just the 15th best opening weekend of all time. The Ron Howard-directed thriller took in $17.1 million at box offices in Britain and Ireland on its opening weekend, placing it well down the list of movie earners.

Tom Cruise's latest Mission: Impossible movie has under-performed at the box office, taking in $30 million less than experts predicted. The third movie in the all-action franchise still stormed to the top of the box office but fell short of expectations, grossing $48 million in its opening weekend. The critically acclaimed film was expected to debut in America with sales of at least $75 million.

Jude Law and ex-girlfriend Sienna Miller are giving their relationship yet another go, according to media reports. The couple called off their engagement in July after Law admitted he had an affair with his children's nanny Daisy Wright. After reconciling last autumn, the pair once again called it quits in January.

DreamWorks Animation has just acquired the rights to develop and produce the computer-animated feature Punk Farm, inspired by Jarrett J. Krosoczka's popular children's book of the same name. The story was developed by producer Kevin Messick and writer Jim Hecht, the latter of whom most recently co-wrote the animated hit Ice Age: The Meltdown.
