Young celebrities have the added pressure of puberty, acne, and first loves to deal with along with the typical Hollywood requirements of paparazzi, screaming fans, and 12-hour work days. 25 Worst Movies Of 2009

November 27th, 2009 9:46am EST
The Body
Wow, there were some bad movies, like really bad, in 2009 but since we are optimists we like to think the good outnumbered the bad. We already discussed the good movies, and now we will feature the bad and ugly of 2009. Sometimes bad movies are entertaining enough to keep our attention for a few hours but sometimes the movies are so bad we induce vomiting to make us feel better.

Couples Retreat (25) had the cast and the budget to be a funny flick and it came out in the fourth quarter of 2009 when the best movies already came out. This movie was bad, not funny, and it might have marked th...

Sarah's Cinema Musings: This Summer's Hits & Misses

August 3rd, 2009 9:52am EDT
The Ugly Truth
Ok, we are almost through the summer season of film, and I, for one, feel like I am trying to resuscitate an almost dead corpse. Sure, there were hits, good films, and technical blockbuster hits, but were they really great or just great within their summer context?

The Blockbusters

Just because a movie generates revenue at the box office does not necessarily translate into a successful well-loved film. X-Men Origins: Wolverine for instance, didn't exactly start the season off with a bang. Star Trek was loved by both fans and non-fans; something that was a bit of a worry before th...

NAME
Today's videos feature the latest from VenetianPrincess, "Adam Lambert's New Confession" - which is a tie-in to an I Love You Beth Cooper contest (hence the Hayden Panettiere pics); Hitler's plans taking a turn for the worst after he hears about Michael Jackson's death; a classic from Saturday Night Live; and something called "Chaccaron Maccaron" that we just can't seem to figure out... Check 'em all out!

The pathetically infectious Chaccaron Maccaron's "El Mundo" video. Unfortunately there is very little explanation for this. (If you know anything about it, then please enlighten u...

Fans looking to see more of Hayden than ever will be pleased with her semi-nude scene in I Love You, Beth Cooper. "I was really naked. I had these little sticky petals on m...

Hayden Panettiere: 'I Have Plenty Of Insecurities'

July 6th, 2009 10:08am EDT
Hayden Panettiere
In her new movie, I Love You, Beth Cooper, Hayden Panettiere plays the title character. A high school valedictorian declares his love for his dream girl at graduation. When he finally gets to know her, he realizes she's not the perfect dream girl he imagined. Panettiere can relate to that, because she has insecurities despite her fame and fortune.

"Like body image insecurities," Panettiere admitted. "The older I get the more comfortable I get with it, but I still have my days where I don't feel great, and I don't like this outfit or that outfit and I'm having my fat day where I have to p...

Director Feared His Crew On 'I Love You, Beth Cooper'

July 6th, 2009 9:56am EDT
I Love You, Beth Cooper
Chris Columbus may get in trouble for joking about His Canadian crew. He shot the teen comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper in Vancouver, where production is much cheaper. How cheap actually frightened him a little.

"Our second unit crew on Beth Cooper were like ex-cons," he joked. "It was a little scary. I'd go to the second unit and fear for my life. They had prison tattoos. It was scary. That's how you do it. We're not hiring children from foreign countries and exploiting them, but at one point, I thought we had convicts working for us. I really didn't know. It was weird."

Now Columbus ...

This Week's Movie Buzz: See It, Rent It, Or Skip It?

July 6th, 2009 9:36am EDT
Bruno
Last week, I chose to see "Public Enemies," which is a decision I definitely do not regret. Johnny Depp is electric as John Dillinger, oozing the charm and finesse of the real life American bank robber and folk hero. Christian Bale also does a solid job as the FBI agent Melvin Purvis, a man singularly obsessed with catching Dillinger.

My main complaints are that the movie does not develop the roles of the other gangsters very well, and at points that the cinematography leaves something to be desired. There are some really shaky handheld shots, which are nauseating. Other than that, ...

Starpulse's Explosive Summer Movie Preview

May 1st, 2009 10:06am EDT
Star Trek
Since the dawn of the American cinematic blockbuster in the late 1970s and early 1980s, moviegoers have eagerly waited for May - the unofficial beginning of summertime. This summer is no different. Films, and most popular media, are social mirrors, and this summer season supports that. The large box office contenders all deal with very similar themes: escapism and the support of the lone, outlaw hero figure (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, Up, Transformers 2, Public Enemies, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Inglourious Basterds, et...
