'Drive' And 'War Horse' Lead 2011 Satellite Awards Nominations

Action thriller Drive and Steven Spielberg's latest epic War Horse lead the International Press Academy's nominations for the 2011 Satellite Awards with eight nods apiece.

Both movies are up for Best Film, alongside The Artist, The Descendants, The Help, Hugo, Moneyball, Midnight in Paris, Shame and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy while Drive's Ryan Gosling and Albert Brooks are among the nominees for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.

Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' Wins Big At National Board Of Review Awards (Full List Of Winners)

Martin Scorsese's first 3D movie Hugo has been named 2011's Best Picture by America's National Board of Review.

Scorsese also picked up the Best Director prize when the honors were announced on Thursday.

George Clooney took home the Best Actor trophy for The Descendants and his Michael Clayton co-star Tilda Swinton was honored with the Best Actress prize for harrowing drama We Need to Talk About Kevin. Clooney's movie daughter Shailene Woodley picked up the Best Supporting Actress award.

'Breaking Dawn' Sinks Its Teeth Into Another Number-One Weekend At Box Office

The latest installment of hit vampire franchise "Twilight" continues to slay the competition at the U.S. box office after grossing $42 million in its second week on release.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, remained the most popular movie among Americans over the Thanksgiving weekend, boosting its domestic total to date to $221.3 million.

The film continues to draw the crowds worldwide too - weekend box office sales outside the U.S. grossed $71.5 million.
