'Inception' Tops Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards

Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller Inception has picked up more honors in the run-up to the Oscars, scooping two prizes at the Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards on Sunday.

The Academy Award-nominated film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, was recognized for best sound editing in the categories of sound effects & foley and music in a feature film.

'Inception' Dominates Visual Effects Society Awards

Leonardo DiCaprio's sci-fi blockbuster Inception is the toast of Hollywood's special effects business after winning four awards at the industry's top prizegiving.

The box office hit, directed by Christoper Nolan, reigned at the Visual Effects Society Awards on Tuesday night, scooping the show's top trophies including best vfx in a vfx-driven feature, as well as honors for compositing, created environments and models.

I was lucky enough to be inside the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre this morning while the 83rd Annual Academy Award Nominations were announced. Here is a timeline and some insider information on how the morning played out:

2 AM : Time to wake up and get ready for the announcements. Since the nominations are coordinated with morning shows on the East Coast, I knew I would have to try and get some sleep before I had to be up in the middle of the night. My bed time? 5:37 PM. How to Train Your Dragon
Hit animated children's film "How to Train Your Dragon" is roaring back to the big screen - movie executives are planning a 3-D sequel for 2013.

The DreamWorks picture, which featured characters voiced by Gerard Butler, Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera, fired up the worldwide box office when it was released earlier this year, banking almost $500 million globally.

Hit family film "How To Train Your Dragon" has returned to the top of the box office after narrowly losing out to "Kick-Ass" last week.
