Giant Truly Memorable Western.Buffalo This movie was a credit to MGM which produced it. The Cinerama process was a big deal in the early l960's and MGM made this movie and a few others with Cinerama attempting to use the 3-D like process to lure audiences in the theatres. The Buffalo Stampede is especially thrilling in Cinerama. This is one of George Pepard's great movies in the l960's when he was fair haired Man at MGM and secured many top roles. An all star epic starring James Stewart, Debbie Reynolds and a host of stars some in small cameos such as John Wayne..thriling. Interesting note Spencer Tracy narrates this film, MGM hoped to have him star in the film but illness precluded Spencer Tracy from acting in the film and Carroll Baker does a fine turn in this film as Peppard's Mother, the next year she played Peppard's love interest in Paramount's big hit "The Carpetbaggers". In real life she was only a few years older than Peppard. | ||
