Spoof comedy Epic Movie has topped the US box office after its first weekend of release, taking $19.2 million. The film lampoons recent movie blockbusters The Da Vinci Code, The Chronicles of Narnia and X-Men, beat off competition from gangster thriller Smokin' Aces, which took $14.3 million.

Dance movie Stomp The Yard held on to the top spot at the box office for the second week in a row, taking $13.3 million. The film narrowly beat Ben Stiller's family comedy Night At The Museum, which continued to perform well with $13 million to maintain second place for the second weekend in a row.
