Two Jews On Their Top Ten Films Of 2012

January 6th, 2013 10:55pm EST
Life of Pi
2012 was a great year for films - studio films as well as Indy titles all scored big.

From the exquisite writing, directing, special effects, I found myself laughing hysterically from a foul mouth, over-sexed pot smoking bear, to a bunch of folks freaking out at the prospect of turning 40.

We had cutting edge performances from Matthew McConaughey ('Killer Joe' & 'The Paper Boy), Nicole Kidman ('The Paper Boy'), John Hawkes and Helen Hunt ('The Sessions') as well as Daniel Day Lewis ('Lincoln') Anthony Hopkins (Hitchcock) and the whole cast of 'Django Unchained'.

As usual, John and I didn...

November 20th, 2012 8:00pm EST
Hitchcock
Looking back at Hitchcock's film 'Psycho' you can't help but wonder - what's all the fuss? Compared to all the violence, gore and torture we see in movies nowadays, 'Psycho' was tame.

But 1959 was a very different time and when 'Psycho' premiered in 1960, the film was groundbreaking in every way. Nothing like 'Psycho' had ever been done before and it scared the hell out of people.

'Hitchcock,' directed by Sasha Gervasi (Anvil), stars Sir Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock and Dame Helen Mirren as his wife Alma Reville; the woman behind the genius.

The story starts in 1959...Hitchcock ha...

Unfortunately, her new ribcage tattoo, a horseshoe with the words "Lucky You" on it, was covered up by fabric. But her dolphin and sunset forearm tattoo was very visible.

Scarlett co-stars as Janet Leigh in "Hitchcock," which centers on the relationship between the legendary British director (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), who playe...

Jessica Biel
Jessica Biel attended the "Hitchcock" New York City premiere over the weekend and eschewed her usually sexy style for a more mature look.

The actress wore an Oscar De La Renta two piece silver outfit with sparkling Manolo Blahnik sandals. She paired the look with chunky earrings and bracelets and, of course, her giant diamond ring.

We hope that married life isn't making Jessica more dowdy!

"Hitchcock" centers on the relationship between the legendary British director (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), who played a crucial behind-the-scenes role in the making o...

November 7th, 2012 7:01pm EST
Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johansson was scared to death when she shot the infamous shower scene from Psycho for her new film Hitchcock, because of co-star Anthony Hopkins.

Scarlett, who plays actress Janet Leigh in the film, says that she didn't mind stripping down and getting all wet to film the iconic scene -- but she did have trouble getting Hopkins' portrayal of cannibalistic Silence Of The Lambs serial killer Hannibal Lecter out of her head -- something that actually helped her nail the scene.

"Hmm, how did I prepare? Well, I just prepared myself to get very, very wet," she tells V Magazine. "We only...
