J.K. Rowling has shared some new background information about several "Harry Potter" characters on her Pottermore website in the 12 days leading up to Christmas, and earlier this week she revealed more about villain Draco Malfoy, played on screen by Tom Felton.

The author revealed plenty over the past two weeks, including new info about a character she regrets killing off, a Jewish wizard and even vampires in the wizarding world she created.

The author took to her Pottermore website to discuss how she unnecessarily killed off Diagon Alley ice cream shop owner Florean Fortescue.

J.K. Rowling has revealed to "Harry Potter" fans that the character of Dolores Umbridge was inspired by a schoolteacher she had a strong dislike for while growing up.

The author posted on her blog Thursday that Umbridge, played by actress Imelda Staunton and one of the most hated Potter characters in the series, was inspired by one of her teachers as a child -- one whose name she won't tell, though.

Author J.K. Rowling is set to co-produce a stage show about the boy wizard for London's West End theater district.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson is searching for a home in New York.

The actress, 22, has been house-hunting in the Big Apple recently and has shown interest in a penthouse apartment in Manhattan's Upper East Side area.

The luxury two bedroom, two bathroom pad had previously been listed for $4 million, but the price has been slashed to $3.3 million, according to the New York Post.
