Henry Fonda gives what could be one of the truly great performances of the American Screen in John Ford's masterpiece "The Grapes Of Wrath". Filmed in black and white it captures the desperation of those caught in the great depression of the l930's and in partcular the dustbowl of the great American Midwest. Jane Darwell as Ma Joad in one of the great iconic performances. Ms. Darwell won the Oscar and truly much deserved. Fonda did not win the Oscar, sometimes Oscar gets it wrong. No matter. Fonda in Grape of Wrath under the great Direction of John Ford gives a performance worthy of Four years of acting school. Magnificent and Moving. | ||
