Dan Folger Examines His Role In 'Young Hitchcock In Love'

Alfred Hitchcock biopics have suffered some false starts. One was to star Sir Anthony Hopkins. Now you may have to settle for Dan Fogler, the fruit fornicating best friend from Good Luck Chuck. He's set to play young Hitchcock.

"I knew the movies that everyone knows, Psycho and The Birds but I had to do a lot of research with the books," Fogler said. "I really focused on his early stuff because that's what it's about. It's like Hitchcock in Love, it's about him in his early twenties just finding himself as an artist, as a director."

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Pregnancy has been an engaging experience for Jessica Alba. The 26-year-old actress, who announced earlier this month that she's expecting, is now engaged to her boyfriend and the baby's father, producer Cash Warren.

''I can confirm that they are engaged,'' Alba's publicist, Brad Cafarelli, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Thursday. The couple is expecting their first child in late spring or early summer, Cafarelli said.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - In her latest movie, Jessica Alba falls into a penguin pond, stabs Dane Cook with a dental tool and accidentally tears off her skirt by closing it in a car door.

Alba plays Cam, a clumsy penguin-keeper who captures Cook's heart in ''Good Luck Chuck,'' in theaters Friday.

The role represents a departure for Alba, who gained fame as an action star - first on TV's ''Dark Angel,'' then in films such as ''Fantastic Four'' and ''Sin City.''
