Trailer Talk - This Week In Movies: '9,' 'Whiteout' & More

September 8th, 2009 9:03am EDT
Whiteout
I've heard good reviews of the Mike Judge comedy "Extract" that came out last week, and I might add it to my list of movies to see, which still includes "District 9" and "Cold Souls." I haven't had as much time to make it to the movie theater lately as I've wanted to.

An unusual combination of movies hits theaters this week: two documentaries, one animated film, two thrillers, and a comedy. Premiering at the box office this week are "9," "I Can Do Bad All By Myself," "Whiteout," "Sorority Row," "The September Issue," and "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour." ...

Writer's Opinion: Angelina Jolie Isn't That Hot

September 8th, 2008 12:24pm EDT
Angelina Jolie
I think Angelina Jolie was always thought of as pretty, a nice looking girl. She was a decent foil for Denzel Washington in The Bone Collector, people liked her alongside Winona Ryder in Girl, Interrupted, she got a little edgy with Gone in 60 Seconds. But when exactly did the world decide that Angelina Jolie is the end-all, be-all of hotness? Was there a vote that I missed? Is there an email I didn't get?

No, I know exactly what happened. Tomb Raider happened. The smash hit video game that introduced geeks worldwide to Lara Croft became the movie that turned Angelina Jolie from above...

Is Nicolas Cage Washed Up or Just Making Bad Decisions?

September 5th, 2008 10:40am EDT
The Wicker Man
In 1996 Nicolas Cage stood on stage at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and accepted his first, and currently only, Oscar for his tour de force performance in Mike Figgis' Leaving Las Vegas. This past year, while starring in Neil LaBute's ill-fated remake of the British horror classic The Wicker Man, Cage, donning a grizzly bear costume, punched a woman in the face.

There are two sides to Nicolas Cage-the go-to superstar with the droopy eyes and smug demeanor and Cage the talented, easily forgotten actor. Unfortunately the latter, Academy Award winning Cage persona is a distant memory a...

5 Best & Worst Angelina Jolie Movies

July 10th, 2008 8:49am EDT
Angelina Jolie
She's a humanitarian, a mother to four children (with two on the way), a partner to one of the sexiest men alive, and arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world. Angelina Jolie is a force of nature and has come a long way from the wild woman with vials of her husband's blood to the UN's Goodwill Ambassador she is today. With a variety of awards under her belt, including an Oscar, she is an acclaimed actress with some impressive -- and horrifying -- work to be proud of. Here is a list of the five best and worst Angelina Jolie movies in no particular order.
