Elton John Slams Disney For Shunning 'Gnomeo & Juliet'
Elton John has taken aim at Disney bosses for resisting his plans for Gnomeo & Juliet and failing to throw their full support behind the animated movie.
The singer spent more than 10 years trying to convince executives to greenlight the project, which is based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as the star-crossed lovers in gnome form.
The 3D family favorite has gone on to top the U.S. box office, but Elton is convinced it would have been even more successful with the support of everyone at Disney.

'Hall Pass' Actually Beat 'Gnomeo & Juliet' At The Box Office
Disney's animated gnomes have been forced to give up first place at the box office to Owen Wilson and his sex-crazed buddies following a weekend ticket recount.
Family favorite "Gnomeo & Juliet" was ruled the weekend number one on Sunday, but the estimates were wrong and now the Farrelly Brothers comedy "Hall Pass" has debuted in the top spot.
When the final box office totals were tabulated on Monday, "Hall Pass" came out with $100,000 sales more than the 3-D film, which took in $13.4 million in its third week of release.

'Unknown' Surprisingly Tops Weekend Box Office
Liam Neeson's thriller "Unknown" has shocked movie industry experts by beating action film "I Am Number Four" to the top of the box office.
The closely contested race ended with Neeson's new film, in which he plays a botanist who ceases to exist in the eyes of his family and colleagues after a car crash, scoring a $21.8 million opening weekend - $2 million more than second-placed "I Am Number Four," which stars "Glee's" Dianna Agron and Brit Alex Pettyfer.

Adam Sandler's 'Just Go With It' Beats Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never'
Adam Sandler's new movie, Just Go With It, took top box-office honors over Justin Bieber's new flick, Never Say Never. Could Sandler be the cure to Bieber fever?
Justin Bieber doesn't need to take home a Grammy or win the box-office showdown to prove he's in the game. That's a good thing because both fell short for the music sensation this weekend.
In an opening weekend fight to the finish, the Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston movie Just Go With It beat out Bieber's 3D hot-ticket Never Say Never at the box office. According to figures from Box Office Mojo, it wasn't a massacre. Just G...

Never Say Never: Justin Bieber's 3D Concert Movie in a Tight Race for This Weekend's Box Office
"Let's pull off a miracle. Who is coming? Bring all your friends!" was the message posted on Justin Bieber's Facebook page earlier today when box office numbers showed his concert film, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, trailing the top spot in this weekend's box office race by a slim margin.
The must-see movie of the week sits just behind Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler's new film Just Go With It, despite the romantic comedy's lukewarm reviews.

Review: 'Gnomeo & Juliet' 'Two Jews On Film' Discover Their Inner Gnome (Video)
Can two young teenagers find love despite their warring families? Well, we all know how Romeo and Juliet ended up. However in the 3D version of 'Gnomeo & Juliet' directed by Kelly Asbury, things don't turn out quite as tragic for our lovers.
'Gnomeo & Juliet' takes place in contemporary Stratford-onAvon, Shakespeare's birthplace. Miss Montague (voice of Julie Walters) and Mr. Capulet (voice of Richard Wilson) are neighbours and they absolutely hate each other.
Their respective collection of garden gnomes, the Reds and the Blues view each other with hostility as well. After Blue Gnomeo...

REVIEW: Symbols Of Hope In Touchstone's 'Gnomeo and Juliet'
William Shakespeare’s ‘ROMEO & JULIET’ is a story filled with passion on both ends—love and hate! The story’s been told over and over throughout the centuries, and some have even had their own twist(s). Whether contemporary or keeping it to its official style of language and appeal, it never fails to cease to amaze those who view it, read it or to an extent, act it out. I’ve seen it many times on stage due to supporting fellow thespian friends, I’ve seen it in films and cartoons, and no matter how many times I visualize this classical piece, the essence of the story’s core is deep on every ...
READ MORETrailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'Just Go with It,' 'Gnomeo and Juliet' & More
Last week I did not catch anything new in theaters, but I had the opportunity to see Ben Affleck’s Boston crime thriller “The Town” and the noir drama “Winter’s Bone” on Netflix. Both turned out to be quite enjoyable, although I found “Winter’s Bone” slightly more captivating than “The Town.”
Despite some obvious similarities to Michael Mann’s “Heat,” Affleck manages to spin this tale about robbers from the working-class neighborhood of Charlestown into a compelling movie. His focus on the people from this community is what propels the story. There are frantic bank heists, memorable cha...

Elton John Thinks Lady Gaga Will Have A Long Career
Elton John envisions Lady Gaga enjoying a long reign as the Queen of Pop - because she is so "amazingly polite and respectful" to her entourage and fans.
The Rocket Man first teamed up with the pop star for a performance at the Grammy Awards last year and they recently recorded a duet for his latest movie project, Gnomeo & Juliet.
The oddball stars have since become close friends, and Elton is convinced the Poker Face hit-maker will rule the charts for years to come - because the superstar is so grounded.

Matt Damon And Emily Blunt Utilize Free Will To Defy Fate In 'The Adjustment Bureau'
Ladies and gentleman, this film was thrown at me completely out of left field. So I receive an email on Friday (Jan. 28th) from one of the publicists I work with asking if there was any interest in ‘The Adjustment Bureau,’ and if there was, Monday (Jan. 31st) there’d be a Press Junket Screening being held at UNIVERSAL’s screening room at the ever so famous 666 building on 5th. Avenue. For those unfamiliar with this building, many superstitious people tend to stay away from it considering its number and among many films having been edited there, adding “insult to the building’s injury,” coin...
