New 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' book in the works

December 18th, 2013 1:47pm EST
Daniel Craig
Publishers in Sweden have commissioned a follow-up book to continue Stieg Larsson's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy.

The novelist's books became huge international best-sellers and were translated for the big screen in a popular Swedish film series starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist, as well as a Hollywood movie with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.

Larsson died in 2004 before his books were published, and a fourth novel in the series, which he was working on at the time of his passing, has yet to be completed due to an ongoing dispute amongst his heirs.

However, bosses at No...

Rooney Mara Kept Her Strawberry Blonde Merkin After 'Dragon Tattoo' Filming

February 8th, 2013 1:15pm EST
Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara insisted on wearing a strawberry blonde pubic wig for her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because the heroine of the story was a red head in author STIEG LARSSON's books.

The brunette admits she came up with the idea of matching her hair color to that of her literary character because she wanted Salander to look just like the girl in the book trilogy.

Mara explains, "I had to wear a merkin... They didn't ask me to but I'm naked so much in it (movie) I wanted one. It felt like a little fur bikini... and I had them make it strawberry blonde."

Actress Shailene Woodley has named her dream role - she's desperate to play rocker Patti Smith on the big screen.

The Descendants star admits she's obsessed with the godmother of punk and has been reading Smith's memoir Just Kids, about her bohemian days in New York's infamous Hotel Chelsea.

She tells ASOS Magazine, "Movies are where my heart is at. I love dark roles - roles that appear scary. Not in a horror film way, but like Black Swan or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Films that take the audience on an emotional journey. And I would love to play Patti Smith in a film one day - I'm...

A Red Headed Rooney Mara Is Nearly Unrecognizable On 'Bitter Pill' Set (Photos)

April 10th, 2012 2:00pm EDT
Rooney Mara in Bitter Pill
We spotted Rooney Mara on the set of her new film "The Bitter Pill" in New York City today. The actress looks completely different than she has in recent months with long red hair.

Last year she dyed and chopped off her brown hair to film "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." She ended up keeping the sharp, sophisticated look. We think the long red hair softens her features and makes her look younger.

Steven Soderbergh directs the psychological thriller starring Mara as a woman who turns to drugs in order to deal with her husband (Channing Tatum) being released from jail. Jude Law also star...

Both awards went to Martin Scorsese's 3D family film Hugo, quickly setting the tone for a possible upset in the coveted Best Picture category at the end of the ceremony.

But that wasn't to be, as frontrunner The Artist took most of the night's major awards, including Best Picture, Actor (Jean Dujardin) and Director (Michel Hazanavicius).

Rooney Mara Embraces The Low Cut Dress Trend

We love Rooney Mara, but somehow her look at the Costume Designers Guild Awards left us feeling a bit flat.

Low cut, cleavage baring dresses are very popular these days (just check out Rihanna's recent red carpet dresses), but we think Rooney looks a little bland in her purple sleeveless dress. What do you think?

The "Dragon Tattoo" star stars in the upcoming film "Bitter Pilm" about a woman who turns to drugs in order to deal with her husband (Channing Tatum) being released from jail.

The Golden Globes are the first big awards show of the season, and the stars came out in colorful ensembles to attend one of Hollywood's most prestigious events leading up to the Academy Awards.

There were very few fashion missteps at this year's event. "Homeland" actress Morena Baccarin wore a daring black dress that showed quite a bit of cleavage (is that appropriate?), while "Ringer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar took a chance with a blue and white tie-dyed gown (too bohemian?).

There wasn't a lot of flash on the red carpet. Few stars wore sequins (Laura Dern, Madonna, Diane Lane and did)...

The moviemaker recalls, "We knew that we needed a little moment of levity... the villain should walk over and turn on music, because he... doesn't like to...

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
I’m disappointed to report that I didn’t love Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel “A Game of Shadows.” The first half hour is pretty boring, and although the action picks up pretty heavily toward the middle, Ritchie seems to care more about style than substance in the film. He continues to use Sherlock’s own bullet-time type slow-mo combined with crazy forced perspectives of bullets and shells being shot from guns, which admittedly is pretty darn exciting at times.

What the movie lacks though is the same great banter between Watson and Holmes that was present in the first film. Holmes...
