Happy 50th Birthday: George Clooney Is a True Star & Class Act At 50

May 6th, 2011 8:30am EDT
George Clooney
“It's not about an opening weekend,” George Clooney once mused. “It's about a career, building a set of films you're proud of. Period.” 50 years into his life, mission accomplished. ...And a whole lot more besides.

Hollywood’s often accused of being superficial, debauched, stupid. Ironically, the king of the town is none of these things. George Clooney is a welcome rarity. Hayek's over-the-top reaction comes to a surprise to anyone who has seen her in From Dusk Till Dawn, where she was featured in a scene as a stripper using a boa constrictor during her...

Are Zombies The New Vampires?

October 19th, 2009 10:56am EDT
Zombieland
Let's get this out of the way first: I'm a zombie fan. I don't like vampires, and I don't think that Edward is particularly sexy. Sorry. But as an entertainment commentator for Starpulse I'd have to admit, with some reluctance, that vampires have zombies over a barrel. And it doesn't look like that's ever going to change. The hit television series True Blood, and the media swallowing ultra-franchise Twilight, have demonstrated a renewed interest in these banal blood-suckers. While movies like Zombieland continue the trend of zombie comedies which, although undeniably funny, only re-enforce ...
