Edie Falco is much more than her role as Carmela on "The Sopranos." She's a cancer survivor, a single mom, and the star of the new Showtime series "Nurse Jackie."

A native of Brookyn, New York, Falco started her television career with appearances on "Homicide: Life on the Street," "Oz" and "Law & Order." She has also starred in films such as "Freedomland," "The Quiet" and "Sunshine State."

'Eight Below' Paws Its Way to Box Office Success

Disney has served up another shock at the box office by taking Eight Below to the top. The Paul Walker-starring adventure narrowly took the top spot this weekend - beating comedy spoof Date Movie - with an opening $19.85 million haul.

The family movie follows the exploits of a pack of sled dogs left to fend for themselves in freezing temperatures when Walker's character is forced to help an injured colleague.

Date Movie, which pokes fun at a host of popular romantic comedies, debuted in second place with $18.9 million.

Julianne Moore was left hurt when she dressed up like a man for a train trip and nobody paid any attention. The Oscar-nominated actress felt sure she'd make a terrible guy when she dressed up for a drama school assignment.

She recalls, "When I was in drama school we had to do a whole thing with facial hair - you had to learn how to apply facial hair.
