LOS ANGELES (AP) - The big green ogre keeps getting bigger. ''Shrek the Third'' took in $122 million in its first weekend, breaking the franchise's own record for best debut ever for an animated film, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Spider-Man 3 has taken top spot in the U.K. box office chart for a second week. The third installment of the Spider-Man franchise took $11.2 million over the weekend, adding to the $23.6 million it took on its first weekend. 28 Weeks Later, the sequel to zombie thriller 28 Days Later, made its debut at number two - followed by Bridge To Terabithia in third place.
