TORONTO (AP) — Rachel Weisz greatly expanded her list of useful talents for the con man romp "The Brothers Bloom."

It couldn't have had a more clichéd premise: A washed-up athlete struggles against the odds for one last shot at greatness. But Darren Aronofsky reinvents this well-worn genre with "The Wrestler," and allows Mickey Rourke to reinvent himself with disarming charisma and unexpected vulnerability.

A young man finds that the moves he learned on the street may help him make a better life for himself in the youth-oriented musical drama Stomp The Yard. Also on DVD: Pan's Labyrinth, Arthur & The Invisibles, and The Fountain.

Kate Winslet is teaming up with her Oscar-winning director husband Sam Mendes to work on a new movie. Winslet, who has been married to the filmmaker for three years, has been interested in playing the role of 1920s circus tiger tamer Mabel Stark since 2003. And now Mendes' company, Neal Street Productions, has bought the rights to adapt a fictionalized life of Stark by author Robert Hough.

Oscar winner Rachel Weisz has hit back at claims she scored her role in new movie The Fountain because husband Darren Aronofsky was the director, insisting Hugh Jackman recommended her for the part. The English actress took on the role of Izzi in the sci-fi thriller after Cate Blanchett dropped out, but only after Jackman had managed to convince Aronofsky his wife was perfect for the part.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association just announced the winners of the 64th Golden Globe awards. Babel took home the award for best drama, while Dreamgirls won best comedy/musical.
