The Queen is the big winner at this year's New York Film Critics Online Awards, taking home five honors for the Helen Mirren-starring drama. Mirren plays British monarch Queen Elizabeth II during the aftermath of the 1997 death of Diana, Princess Of Wales in the movie, directed by Stephen Frears.

Clint Eastwood's Flags Of Our Fathers companion piece is a big winner months before its release - the war film, Letters From Iwo Jima, has claimed the National Board of Review's (NBR) Best Film of 2006 prize. The Eastwood-directed movie beat out already-released films, including "Flags of Our Fathers," to land the top prize - even though it has only been released in Japan to date.

Independent Feature Project (IFP) just announced the Tributees and Nominees for the 16th Annual Gotham Awards. The Awards will be presented on Wednesday, November 29, at New York's Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers. The annual Gotham Awards, presented by IFP, celebrate the authentic voices behind and in front of the camera in films made this year.
