Who Is The Scariest Horror Movie Serial Killer Of All Time?

October 28th, 2009 10:00am EDT
Jason
When you think of horror movies, you think of suspense, blood and gore, and serial killers. There have been many great horror movies with some scary serial killers. Some of them include the mysterious tape in The Ring, death in Final Destination, and Lindsay Lohan in Herbie Fully Loaded. Alright, Herbie Fully Loaded wasn't a horror movie and Lindsay Lohan wasn't a serial killer in it, but a number of people had a heart attack while watching that horrible movie. Anyway, there are six main serial killers who come to mind when we think of horror movies. They are:

Freddy Krueger (Nightmare o...

Trailer Talk: 'Halloween II,' 'Taking Woodstock' & More

August 24th, 2009 10:01am EDT
HALLOWEEN II
I have not had the chance to see "Inglourious Basterds" yet, but I'm hoping to catch it in the next couple of days. From the people I have spoken with that have seen it already, it's supposed to be really entertaining.

Other films in my current backlog include "District 9" which I've only heard positive feedback about, and the Paul Giamatti comedy "Cold Souls."

Two of the movies premiering this week are horror movies, and the other two are comedies. One of the films is another sequel annoyingly titled to resemble the first movie's title much like "Fast & Furious." Arriving at the b...

This Week's Movie Buzz: See It, Rent It, Or Skip It?

April 6th, 2009 10:36am EDT
Observe and Report
Welcome to another edition of "This Week's Movie Buzz." As a movie trivia guru and trailer addict with a practically photographic memory of actors and directors, I'll provide you with the inside scoop before you hit the multiplex with your hard earned cash. You'll receive a first look at the movies premiering this week, and I'll offer my predictions about which ones will be worth your $10, which ones you should wait to rent, and which ones aren't worth your time.

The selection of movies premiering this week is rather light, so if you haven't checked out the movies I recommended last ...

Why Some Horror Trilogies Work When Others Don't

October 15th, 2008 10:12am EDT
Scream
Randy (Jamie Kennedy) from Wes Craven's Scream once said that in trilogies "all bets are off." Since a series has a clear-cut end when it is deemed a trilogy, certain characters-- even the leads-- don't have to be kept alive for countless resurrections down the road, which basically gives the filmmakers free range to do whatever they want. The shocks are bigger, the blood is brighter, and the deaths are more elaborate. Unfortunately, though, this often just leaves the filmmakers trying to one-up themselves with each subsequent installment, creating superfluous, and often inane, twists tha...

Upcoming Comic Book Films Worth Checking Out, Part 2

January 11th, 2008 12:03pm EST
Hellboy II: The Golden Army
"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" (July 11)

This is a sequel to the first "Hellboy" and is based off an enormously well received series created by Dark Horse Comics. Hellboy is the greatest supernatural detective and blends many aspects of classical horror and magic with a uniquely dry sense of humor.

The first movie was moderately popular, and the DVD sales were positive enough that a sequel was given the green light. It will be directed again by Guillermo del Toro, and star Ron Perlman as Hellboy, Selma Blair as Liz, and Doug Jones as Abe Sapien.

"Hellboy" has always been a f...
