25 Worst Movies Of 2009

November 27th, 2009 9:46am EST
The Body
Wow, there were some bad movies, like really bad, in 2009 but since we are optimists we like to think the good outnumbered the bad. We already discussed the good movies, and now we will feature the bad and ugly of 2009. Sometimes bad movies are entertaining enough to keep our attention for a few hours but sometimes the movies are so bad we induce vomiting to make us feel better.

Couples Retreat (25) had the cast and the budget to be a funny flick and it came out in the fourth quarter of 2009 when the best movies already came out. This movie was bad, not funny, and it might have marked th...

Some Of The Best 'Final Destination' Death Scenes

August 28th, 2009 9:45am EDT
The Final Destination
The original idea for Final Destination came from Jeffrey Reddick and it was originally intended for the "X-Files." This makes a certain kind of sense, since the idea of people cheating death and then death trying to get them back does feel like a case that can be wrapped up in a single hour long episode. There is a certain "The Twilight Zone" feel to the story as well, and this may be why the original film was considered a pretty interesting horror plot. There is no exact 'villain' in it, and it's more about sitting back and watch a group of pretty young people try not to get viciously kil...

Scout Taylor-Compton: 'Dakota Fanning And Kristen Stewart Will Blow Your Mind In Joan Jett Biopic'

August 26th, 2009 11:00am EDT
Scout Taylor-Compton
The big news about the Joan Jett biopic The Runaways has been Kristen Stewart's turn as the rocker. Fans should also know that all of Stewart's costars worked their butts off jamming to play Jett's first girl band.

"It was a lot of hard work because we basically had to have band practice and we had to learn the instruments in a short amount of time," said Lita Ford actor Scout Taylor-Compton. "We performed for like 8 hours straight. It was crazy. Basically, I felt like I was in a band and I miss it. I miss rehearsal."

Taylor-Compton got pretty good at the lead guitar on some classic R...

'The Final Destination' Director Wants You To Be Safe

August 26th, 2009 9:19am EDT
The Final Destination
The Final Destination films take great delight in showing how any environment could conspire to kill you if all the right things go wrong. David R. Ellis, director of "The Final Destination", hopes viewers will take the latest film as a warning to be safe.

"I think people need to be more aware in life in general," Ellis said. "It's in all those kinds of situations. If you've got water that's leaking next to an electrical cord, if you've got oil that's spilling someplace where people are going to walk or drive, there's everything in life that you need to be aware of."

The premise of Fi...

Trailer Talk: 'Halloween II,' 'Taking Woodstock' & More

August 24th, 2009 10:01am EDT
HALLOWEEN II
I have not had the chance to see "Inglourious Basterds" yet, but I'm hoping to catch it in the next couple of days. From the people I have spoken with that have seen it already, it's supposed to be really entertaining.

Other films in my current backlog include "District 9" which I've only heard positive feedback about, and the Paul Giamatti comedy "Cold Souls."

Two of the movies premiering this week are horror movies, and the other two are comedies. One of the films is another sequel annoyingly titled to resemble the first movie's title much like "Fast & Furious." Arriving at the b...
