Faithless Review
Though directed by the prolific Liv Ullmann, Trolosa feels every bit the film Ingmar Bergman would have made in his prime. An intense look at the ramifications of a lustful affair and the effect it has on a family, this picture suffers from a number of indulgences of which Bergman's detractors accused him. Unlike many pictures about divorce, however, Trolosa gets to the subject's ugly core -- how even the smallest lie can have devastating consequences. The central device of a Bergman stand-in isn't always successful, but it provides actress Leah Endre some of her most startling scenes. Endre is effortlessly believable and moving as the unfaithful narrator, continually finding the right note for every scene. Jason Clark, Rovi
