'The Queen' Is Film Fans' Favorite Movie Monarch

Helen Mirren's portrayal of The Queen is movie fans' favorite royal role, according to a new online poll.

In anticipation of Colin Firth's Best Actor win at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday for The King's Speech, and his assured Oscar nomination, websites WENN and Fandango.com staged a weekend vote to find the best movie monarch.

Mirren topped the poll with 47 per cent, while Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth I came in second with 31 per cent of the vote.

Little Miss Sunshine scooped the Ensemble in a Film prize at the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday. The low-budget comedy unexpectedly took home the prestigious accolade, which is the ceremony's equivalent of the Best Picture Oscar. Full List of Winners Below

'Little Miss Sunshine,' 'Grey's Anatomy' Win Producer's Guild Awards

Little Miss Sunshine
Low-budget movie Little Miss Sunshine has beaten Babel, Dreamgirls and The Departed to be named Best Film at the Producers Guild Of America (PGA) awards Saturday night. The film is now a favorite to win the Academy Award for Best Picture next month - 11 movies voted for by the PGA in the last 17 years have gone on to win the Oscar.

Elsewhere, Cars won Best Animated Film, while Grey's Anatomy was named Best Episodic Television Drama at the Los Angeles ceremony.

Dreamgirls, United 93 and Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan are among the films of 2006, according to the American Film Institute (AFI). The organization has revealed its top ten - chosen by a panel of filmmakers, critics, scholars and AFI trustees - to give gamblers a good hint ahead of the forthcoming awards season.

The other seven entries are Babel; The Devil Wears Prada; Half Nelson; Happy Feet; Inside Man; Letters From Iwo Jima and Little Miss Sunshine.

Helen Mirren has been attacked for "vulgar and obscene" comments she made during the Emmy Awards live telecast last Sunday. The British actress raised giggles at the Los Angeles ceremony when she joked she almost fell "a**e over tit" as she stepped up to receive one of the night's Best Actress awards for her portrayal of Elizabeth I - but one family group wasn't amused.

'The Simpsons' Wins Best Animated Award

The Simpsons won the best animated program at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday - the ninth time it has been awarded the prize. An episode of the show, entitled “The Seemingly Never-Ending Story,” beat a controversial episode of South Park, in which The Church Of Scientology and follower Tom Cruise were mocked.

Simpsons producer Al Jean said in his acceptance speech, "This is what happens when you don't mock Scientology."
