THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW (1988) WES CRAVEN
“Don't bury me, I am not dead!”
Imagine this... you're paralyzed but conscious, however unable to move or in any other way able to communicate with others. You can't even signal that you are alive. Those around you pronounce you dead. Doesn't sound like a happy ending, now does it?

Is Excessive CGI And No Plot Becoming A Trend In Movies?
A few weeks ago I got to see 15 minutes of James Cameron's "Avatar" on the IMAX in 3D, and it was some of the best CGI ever seen on the big screen. For years Cameron has promised a big comeback and at least visually this movie looks like it will truly deliver when it comes out in December. And yet ... what little they revealed of the plot felt contrived, and the dialogue was stiff. A soldier sneaking undercover in another society and then falling in love with this new culture and trying to make peace between the two nations. Viewers have seen that before, but what makes "Avatar" different h...
READ MOREGeorge Hamilton Plans Second 'Bite' At Cult Horror Comedy
George Hamilton is set to vamp it up again for laughs as the producer of a new comedy horror sequel of his hit film Love At First Bite.
It has been 20 years since the movie star played Count Vladimir Dracula in the cult 1979 movie and now he's back for more blood with a camp sequel called "Batrimony: Love At Second Bite".
He tells WENN, "It's terrific. It's all about old world school of Dracula in the Bela Lugosi 1940s up against the Twilight felons with humor. It's hard to do but it's great fun."
And Hamilton thinks the time is perfect for another vampire movie spoof: "I think 'Tw...

Sarah's Cinema Musings: When A Remake Is Redundant
As many of you have noticed, even those of you who have sought residence under a comfortable moss-laden rock, there is a virus in cinema. This virus is the concept of the remake. Yes, in a time when production budgets are dependent on a 'sure bet', there will be hyper-formulaic films. The issue now is the remake-remake. Confused? You are not the only one. Remakes of remakes, sometimes more positively spun as 'reimaginings', are not unheard of. 'Batman', 'Superman', and many of the old sci-fi classics like 'War of the Worlds', 'Dracula', 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', amongst many o...

Coppola's Films Lack Nudity Because Of Director's Shyness
Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola has been forced to ditch a series of sex scenes over the course of his career because he's too shy to ask actresses to remove their clothing.
Although the legendary director doesn't reveal which actress he's talking about, Coppola recalls one incident while he was shooting Dracula in the early 1990s where he lacked the courage to insist a timid beauty stripped for the cameras.
He says, "My films are not known for steamy-hot sex scenes. Part of the reason is I'm too shy to ask the girl to do it. You know, even in Dracula, where there was supposed to...
