Amy Adams' Homemade 'Designer' Jeans

April 10th, 2009 1:06pm EDT
Amy Adams
Actress Amy Adams had such a thrifty upbringing; she made her own fake designer clothes.

The Doubt star, 34, admits money was tight in her household - but she refused to let financial woes limit her wardrobe, so she created look-a-like fashions at home.

She tells W magazine, "We were defined by the clothes we bought at the mall. If I didn't get things on clearance, I wasn't getting them. I would make fake Guess jeans by buying a cheaper brand with a triangle label and then cutting it off so you could still see the triangle outline. It's so sad that I did that! But I really wante...

Oscar nominee Amy Adams was left so traumatized by the style pressures on the red carpet at the Oscars, she has rebelled by drastically shortening her long red hair.

She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "I think as an actress you feel like you don't have ownership of your physical being because everyone has something to say. After awards season, you feel really judged. I know it sounds real...

Before we get started on the Mega Oscar Diary, let's go to a few random ramblings from the cadre of pre-shows around the dial:

-Philip Seymour Hoffman's hat probably came with a matching set of fingerless gloves.

-Those who were unable to see the Los Angeles CW affiliate's pre-show missed this exchange.

-The CW's Female Host: What is the role you'd love to do next. If you could do anything following 'The Wrestler' what would it be?

-Mickey Rourke: (Slowly eyes her up from head to toe with a knowing smile and walks off.)

You may not have heard (which is probably part of the point) but the Academy has decided to surround this year's ceremony in mystery. Mainly, they've refused to reveal who will be presenting Oscars this year and have gone so far as to forbid its presenters from appearing on the red carpet. Why? Because they think fashionistas will b...

By not dominating "The Dark Knight", the Oscars continued to show that it doesn't care about nominating movies people actually like.
