'Dodgeball' Sequel In The Works

April 23rd, 2013 11:56am EDT
Dodgeball A True Underdog Story
It's only fitting that the hit 2004 comedy Dodgeball was subtitled "A True Underdog Story" considering it cost just $20 million to make and earned over $167 million worldwide. So given that fact, you would assume a sequel would be a no brainer.

Yet for nearly a decade now, the only thing stars Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn have been dodging is questions about when they were going to reunite.

Until now, that is, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Stiller and Vaughn are teaming up once again for "Dodgeball 2." Hey, better late than never.

So what exactly will their competing gym owners...

'Medium' Recap: 'The Medium is the Message'

October 19th, 2009 10:30am EDT
Medium
Last week's episode of "Medium" was the type where the audience knows who the villain is before Allison does, and so the mystery is more about finding out why and how they'll stop him. The show doesn't blatantly tell us who is to blame, but enough clues can be picked up early on that you're staring at the screen going 'come on Allison, he's eeeeevil!' Meanwhile Joe gets the bestest job ever and hates it, and the Zodiac killer is found ... er ... the "Libra" killer.

The show starts out with a writer sits by the bedside of a dying cancer patient, and tries to get him to admit he is the inf...

May 19th, 2009 9:35am EDT
Justin Long
Justin Long is the deadpan Mac guy and star of comedies like Dodgeball, Waiting and He's Just Not That Into You. He got really serious for the horror thriller "After.Life," so you're about to see a darker side to him.

"That's more of a lead part but it's by far the most dramatic, intense movie I've ever been a part of and ever been asked to do," Long said. "I'm going through this nervous breakdown. I'm just unraveling throughout the movie."

The premise is either supernaturally conflicted or just plain sick and twisted. "My girlfriend dies in the beginning and she's being held capt...

Drew Barrymore
Hollywood couple Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have split less than four months after the actress cooed about her lover on TV talk show Oprah.

The couple started dating in August after meeting on the set of upcoming movie He's Just Not That Into You.

Supporting Superhero: A Look At The Stand-Out Film Roles Of Jason Bateman

July 1st, 2008 10:11am EDT
Jason Bateman
In the early part of his career, Jason Bateman was known as the cute sandy haired boy from the wholesome TV family. Beginning with Little House on the Prairie and taking it through "Silver Spoons" (where as the best friend he became part of the extended family) and "Valerie," he wore that role like it was his own skin. Only as he aged (like with 2001's "Some Of My Best Friends" and later with the critically acclaimed "Arrested Development") did he start to include sarcasm into his portrayals, opening up a world of possibilities for him to steal scenes in a number of feature films.

Funny Film Cameos

June 2nd, 2008 10:13am EDT
Ben Stiller
A cameo used to refer to a famous person who made an appearance in a film as him or herself. Now actors play small parts as a character in a film for comic relief. Most cameos are non-credited due to the shortness of the screen time or because they are so famous they don't need a big credit. Some are publicity stunts. Others pay tribute to that actor's work in a similar role, but they are all for the most part hilarious. Following are 10 of film's funniest cameos in no particular order:

Will Ferrell as the pompous and entertaining Chazz Reinhold in Wedding Crashers

Movies With Heart: The 100 Best 'Romdramedies' Of The Past 20 Years

April 17th, 2008 8:00am EDT
Clueless
There's the quintessential romantic comedy, and then there's the romdramedy. Similar to a dramedy (in which there is an equal balance of humor and serious content), a romdramedy combines comedy and drama with that mushy thing we call romance.

This is not a list of the best films over the past 20 years. Rather it is a list that gives preferences to those films that best combine all three elements - romance, comedy and drama.

Films like Magnolia and The Matrix were barred from competition, while films like Down with Love were considered (however, that one didn't make the cut)....

The Frat Pack: Pledging to Make Audiences Laugh

April 7th, 2008 2:00pm EDT
Will Ferrell
A majority of comedic films released over the past 10 years have fallen into either one of two categories: stupid with borderline inappropriate humor or stupid with completely inappropriate humor. Occasionally, a comedy comes along that doesn't quite fit either of these descriptions (i.e., Wedding Crashers, which is completely inappropriate but far from stupid). But these films are few and far between.

However, it is important to note that the word "stupid" is not meant to have a negative connotation here. True, it is sometimes more satisfying to watch a comedy based entirely on witty ...

One week later, I'm still walking in circles around my house: pinching myself, reading newspaper articles, Tivoing ESPN, and gazing up at pictures of David Tyree. I just can't believe it. The New York Giants, my team, my sloppy, win ugly, stab me in the heart again and again until I'm either screaming or crying or laughing like a crazy person Giants have done the impossible-- they defeated the big, bad, *perfect* New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

It's like something out of a movie. Inspirational. Against all odds. Team victory. In my mind, it's already the greatest sports movi...

Spiral
Isolation- we've all dealt with it in some way in our lives. Whether it was that summer everyone went to camp but you, being the new guy at the office, or, in the case of Joel David Moore in Spiral, by possibly killing a slew of women. The key word there is possibly, because when you're seeing this Hitchcockien suspense driven film you only find out the truth at the end, after becoming invested in the characters so that the answer actually matters. Starpulse spoke with scribe/star Joel David Moore (Dodgeball, Art School Confidential) and co-writer Jeremy Boreing about the role of isolation ...
