The Dirty Dancing soundtrack is the number one pick among amorous couples looking to add a little music to their intimate moments, according to a new survey.

The Spotify-sponsored Science Behind the Song study, conducted by British psychologist Daniel Mullensiefen, polled 2,000 Londoners on their sex song choices - and a majority of lusty couples revealed they enjoy the hits from the 1987 film.

Meanwhile, Brits also like to listen to Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing," Ravel's "Bolero" and Top Gun love theme "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin during sex.

The infamous routine Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey performed in "Dirty Dancing" has been voted the greatest ever movie dance.

The stars' steps came out on top in the poll, carried out by LoveFilm in celebration of the release of dance movie remake "Footloose" later this month.

Dirty Dancing is set for a big screen revamp - with the original movie's choreographer taking on the role of director.

Jennifer Grey is recovering at home following surgery to treat a back injury she sustained while competing on TV show Dancing With The Stars.

The Dirty Dancing actress was crowned the queen of the dance floor last month but almost pulled out of the finale altogether after rupturing a disc in her back, prompting a brief hospital visit. "Dirty Dancing" has been voted the top feelgood movie of all time. The romantic 1987 movie, starring the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, polled 15 percent of votes in a new Lovefilm.com poll.
