The 2013 Oscars will feature a 50th Anniversary celebration of James Bond in the movies.

The tribute to tribute Ian Fleming's secret agent 007 will include a performance of a medley of Bond theme songs from Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Adele.

Five of the six actors to portray James Bond on film will join the singers on stage.

Pierce Brosnan declined his invitation to participate, leaving Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig one Bond short.

Cannes Film Festival bosses are to mark 50 years of the James Bond franchise by screening five classic 007 movies at the event.

Ian Fleming based his James Bond character on composer Andrew Lloyd Webber's former father-in-law.

The theatre impresario's TV personality daughter Imogen has revealed the writer drew inspiration for his superspy from her grandfather.

She says, "He's based on my mother's father. He served under Ian Fleming in the war in naval intelligence, and my grandfather is one of the men James Bond is based upon. It's a very cool claim to fame."

'Diamonds Are Forever' Movie Poster Fetches Fortune At Auction

The original poster artwork for James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever has sold at a London auction for more than $125,000.

The hand-painted piece made more than three times the original estimate of $38,000 after a collector bid $126,800 at the Christie's sale on Wednesday.

The rare poster features a miss-spelling of actress Lana Wood's name and depicts 007 star Sean Connery holding a gun with two Bond girls at his side.

A poster for the 1942 Humphrey Bogart classic Casablanca also went under the hammer, fetching a staggering $48,000.

Oscar-winning composer John Barry, the man behind many of the iconic James Bond theme tunes, has passed away at the age of 77. The British musician suffered a fatal heart attack on Sunday.

His fellow Bond composer, David Arnold, took to Twitter.com to write, "It was with a heavy heart that I tell you John Barry passed away this morning. "I am profoundly saddened by the news but profoundly thankful for everything he did for music and for me personally."

Bud Ekins, the man behind the most famous motorcycle stunt in movie history, has died aged 77. Ekins was in the saddle for the iconic scene in The Great Escape, when Steve McQueen's character jumps a barbed wire fence on a bike to avoid capture as he escapes a German prisoner-of-war camp.
