Burt Reynolds Says His Nude Photo Shoot Cost ‘Deliverance’ Co-Stars Oscar Nominations

October 29th, 2012 7:58am EDT
Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds still regrets posing nude for a women's magazine in the 1970s as he fears the centerfold hurt his movie Deliverance’s chances at the Academy Awards.

The actor caused a stir and became a sex symbol in 1972 after he stripped off and posed naked on a bearskin rug for Cosmopolitan magazine.

The photo was so popular among female readers it reportedly spawned Playgirl magazine, but Reynolds is convinced the commotion it caused had a negative effect on his Deliverance co-stars.

He tells U.K. TV show Piers Morgan's Life Stories, "I really can't (look at it). I'm very embar...

After warnings from the grimy, impoverished locals, and Drew's tuneful yet ominous "Dueling Banjos" encounter wi...

Burt Reynolds Slams Latest Facelift Rumors

August 30th, 2011 11:19am EDT
Burt Reynolds
Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds has denied longstanding rumours he's undergone a facelift, insisting he inherited his wrinkle-free skin from his father.

The Deliverance star is aged 75 but has the smooth skin of a much younger man, prompting observers to speculate he has had cosmetic surgery to preserve his looks.

Reynolds admits he went under the surgeon's knife to correct his eyes after shooting too many fight scenes in the 1980s, but he's adamant he has not had a facelift.

The actor tells Britain's OK! magazine, "I was never lifted. I would not have a problem with the truth, but I i...

31 Days Of Horror: 'Motel Hell' (1980)

October 27th, 2010 8:39pm EDT
If there’s a common consensus amongst horror movies it’s that rednecks are complete lunatics out to eat your skin. It doesn’t matter if it’s a ghost story or a slasher flick, if there’s a backwoods hillbilly involved then he probably wants to do something really horrible to someone. Occasionally a director will come along and subvert that expectation a bit, like Eli Roth does at the end of Cabin Fever, but overall the lesson is this: Don’t leave the city, don’t talk to the yokels, and for the love of Christ learn how to change a tire.

I bring this up because today’s movie, Motel Hell, foll...

7 Scariest Films to Watch on Halloween

October 28th, 2009 10:30am EDT
Scariest Films to Watch on Halloween
To be clear, we abhor the countless seemingly arbitrary lists of "scary" films that have littered the internet and many a magazine. If you are tired of trying to search these lists looking for films that don't have Halloween or 13th in the title, you will appreciate our list. Horror films, for the most part, are supposed to move the audience. They are not created for awards shows, and typically the ones that haunt us are the ones which are considered to be "bad" films. The most obvious issue with these previous lists it that they do not give an accurate explanation of how they define th...

Think Your Vacation Was A Disaster? Movie Vacations That Went Terribly Awry

July 29th, 2009 8:30am EDT
Vacations can be stressful. You have to figure out where to go, how to get there, what to do when you get there. Once you decide where to go, there's all that

stress to DO something rather than relax and appreciate your surroundings. Inevitably, something always goes wrong be it a flat tire leaving you on the side of the interstate or an unexpected discovery that eating shrimp makes you break out into a horrible rash. Vacations never seem to go as planned.

Countless movies capitalize on the dissonance that often spring from supposedly rejuvenating vacations. Sometimes the twists and tur...

Collateral Damage From Robert Plant's Decision To Nix Zep Reunion

Led Zeppelin
Since the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reformed last December for a one-off show to pay tribute to late Atlantic Records founder and legend Ahmet Ertegun, the man who discovered and brought us some of the most talented artists of all-time (seriously, we really could use another Ahmet right about now-- but since the almighty dollar overshadows the need for actual talent we can forget that) and gave a handful of folks in England the greatest holiday gift ever, there has been a weekly story about the band going on tour. And not going on tour. But wanting to tour. And not wanting to tour. ...
