Another aquatic offering from the seemingly ceaseless assembly line of producer Phillip_Roth (decidedly not the author of -The Human Stain), Deep Shock offers some fairly nifty set pieces on the level of, say, Irwin_Allen, who saw to The_Poseidon_Adventure and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. The sets are okay, sort of on par with Star_Trek's bridge, and the acting is as reasonable as you can expect. The eels are, well, they're very long, very bright, and very fast, and look like they'd be pretty hard things to shoot in a video game, which is where they appear to have been borrowed from. Oh, why not? It's dumb and almost a guilty pleasure, but not quite that bad. This is for hardcore underwater sci-fi action fans only. But Australian actress Simmone_Jade_Mackinnon certainly has our attention. Buzz McClain, Rovi
