Although Tom Weston (Gerald McRaney) has nurtured a lifelong fantasy about having great power and influence over people, the bitter truth is that Tom has never become anything more than a Michigan truck driver. Nonetheless, Tom persists in his efforts to live out his ambitious dreams, leading him to betray his wife Nancy (Peggy Lipton) and inaugurate a torrid affair with impressionable Bobbi Gilbert (Jodie Bissett), a woman half his age.
