Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal is pregnant with her second child, according to reports.

The Dark Knight star, 33, is six months pregnant, according to Life & Style magazine.

Talk of a second baby for the star and her actor husband Peter Sarsgaard has been rampant for weeks ever since Gyllenhaal appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of her film Hysteria at the Rome Film Festival in Italy at the end of October sporting what appeared to be a baby bump.

Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard have yet to confirm the happy news. The stars, who wed in 2009, are parents to five-year-old daughter Ramona.

Aaron Eckhart has landed the leading role in a new biopic about tragic Beach Boys star Dennis Wilson.

The Dark Knight actor will embark on drumming lessons to perfect his transformation as Wilson in Randall Miller's new film The Drummer, which charts the last six years of the rocker's life. Eckhart, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the Beach Boy, will also sing and play piano in the film, which will start shooting in California early in 2012.

Aaron Eckhart is set to pile on the prosthetics to play Frankenstein's monster in a re-imagining of Mary Shelley's classic story.

The Dark Knight star has signed up to appear in I, Frankenstein, a new film based on Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux's graphic novel of the same name, which sees Shelley's monster having survived into the present day.

An Oscar-winning stunt expert has been cleared of allegations that health and safety violations led to the death of a cameraman during the making of The Dark Knight.

Conway Wickliffe, 41, was killed on the set of the Batman movie in Surrey, England in 2007 after the vehicle he was travelling in hit a tree during the rehearsal of an action sequence. The father-of-two, who suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene, was said to have not been strapped down during the stunt and special effects boss Christopher Corbould went on trial accused of failing to ensure his safety.
