Q&A: Meet Ana de la Reguera

December 30th, 2011 11:45am EST
Ana de la Reguera
"You have to be very humble to start over," says Latin actress Ana de la Reguera when we connect very early on a Monday morning.

That's something she knows firsthand. She's just now arriving home after working through the night. It's not the kind of work schedule you'd expect for an actress who's considered "one of the most influential Latinas in the United States" according to Univision and who's been feted by - or on the cover of - various international publications like Glamour Mexico, Vogue Latinoamerica, and People en Espanol.

While all the accolades in Latin America are appreciate...

January Jones & Gwyneth Paltrow Named The 'Least Influential People Of 2011'

December 2nd, 2011 8:30am EST
Gwyneth Paltrow
Actresses January Jones and Gwyneth Paltrow have been spoofed as two of the Least Influential People of 2011.

Editors at GQ magazine have followed up Barbara Walters' annual list of "The 10 Most Fascinating People" of the year by creating their own compilation of celebrities who've failed to contribute something of "value" to the world, and both blonde beauties were nominated for the shameful honor.

Jones was one of 25 selected because the latest season of her hit TV show "Mad Men" was delayed from airing until 2012 and Paltrow was named for "unleashing her awful cookbook on the world."

Fashion Fails: Olivia Wilde, Amy Smart, And Ginnifer Goodwin

Olivia Wilde
What is that supposed to be, anyway, Olivia Wilde? This retro-esque, see-through, polka-dotted... thing is the front-runner for our Fashion Fails of the week! Olivia wore the outfit to the UK premiere of Cowboys & Aliens - we dig everything above the neck, like the lipstick and the hairband. But everything else is no!

Amy Smart looks more like our mom than a Hollywood star in this flower print, see-though gown. To make things worth, the earthy feel of her outfit does not go with the metallic heels and purse.

Ginnfer Goodwin looks like she is filling in for Dolly Parton or a series o...

Olivia Wilde attended the Berlin premiere of Cowboys & Aliens on Monday in a simple black dress. She jazzed up her look with cat eye make-up and a sexy ponytail.

The actress was recently listed in the top 10 "Best Summer Bodies" list by WomensHealthMag.com. Perhaps that's because her butt is revealed in another new film, "The Change-Up?"

Olivia is very popular in Hollywood these days. She stars in the upcoming film "In Time" opposite Justin Timberlake as well as the films "Butter," "Blackbird," "The Words" and "Welcome to People." She's rumored to play Linda Lovelace in another film.

Ana De La Reguera Smitten With Daniel Craig On 'Cowboys & Aliens' Set

August 8th, 2011 8:59pm EDT
Ana de la Reguera
Mexican star Ana de la Reguera struggled to film scenes opposite Daniel Craig on the set of action film Cowboys & Aliens because she had a huge crush on the Brit.

The sexy Nacho Libre star, who plays Sam Rockwell's wife in the sci-fi western, admits she was smitten with Craig the minute she met him - and she spent much of the movie trying to avoid eye contact.

She tells Angeleno magazine, "He was my one and only crush. I couldn't even look at him on the set. The first time I saw him, I said, 'Oh my god, I'm in love with you!'"

But the actress just missed out on spending quality time with...

Actress Olivia Wilde raced Cowboys & Aliens co-star Harrison Ford to the set of the movie in New Mexico - to see if she could get there in her car before he arrived in his helicopter.

Ford has a clause in his contract that allows him to pilot in to movie sets in his chopper - and Wilde loved the challenge of trying to get to work before the veteran action man.

She says, "I'd be in my car and I'd see him and be like, 'Come on, I can do it!' You'd see him coming across the skyline. He usually won."

Ford may have been great in the air, but Wilde insists he's not the greatest driver on the...

'Cowboys & Aliens' Beats 'Smurfs' In Box Office Recount

The Smurfs have been left a little blue after learning their hit family film didn't quite have the pulling power at the U.S. box office to share the top spot at the weekend.

Initial estimates suggested the film had tied for the number one slot with action blockbuster Cowboys & Aliens - but official figures have the little blue men in second place.

Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig's film have edged ahead, claiming $1 million more than The Smurfs at the U.S. box office.

Cowboys & Aliens romped to the top of the charts with a $36.4 million opening weekend take.

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes,' 'The Change-Up,' & More

August 1st, 2011 9:39am EDT
Planet of the Apes
I was anxiously anticipating last week’s “Cowboys & Aliens,” hoping that it would effectively mix action and humor in the same way as director Jon Favreau’s “Iron Man” films. Favreau takes a more serious approach though, creating a stiff western that happens to include science fiction elements. While his idea is admirable, the movie is marred by poorly written dialogue and slow pacing. For more of my thoughts, check out my review.

Coming to theaters this week are the sci-fi prequel “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” the body swapping comedy “The Change-Up,” the international drama “The ...

'Cowboys & Aliens': A Stiff Western Laced With Sci-Fi

July 31st, 2011 2:00pm EDT
Cowboys 2
Based on its name, “Cowboys & Aliens” sounds like a playful, genre-mashing romp, similar to something imagined by Tarantino or Rodriguez. “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau tries to prove though, that he can overcome these expectations, by telling a serious tale about cowboys fighting aliens. The fruit of Favreau's labors is a film which plays like a stiff western laced with science fiction.

It starts out promising: the camera pans across a desert landscape, where it is interrupted by a confused man (Daniel Craig) jolting awake. He has amnesia, but he's more alarmed by his open wound and t...

Review: 'Cowboys & Aliens' Is A Fun Romp That Lacks Heart

July 27th, 2011 9:00am EDT
Cowboys & Aliens
It seemed a great recipe for success: my favorite actor (Daniel Craig), one of film's iconic names (Harrison Ford), and one of my favorite directors (Jon Favreau). And it almost was. While Cowboys & Aliens is worth the price of admission, it's lacking in places that keep it from being the truly awesome film it could have been.

The biggest plus that the flick has going for it is that it defies all the usual claptrap of a summer blockbuster. Its action sequences are definitely big and loud, but not to the point of incoherence; with the exception of the final confrontation, it's relatively ...
