Kevin Smith Reignites Bruce Willis Feud

March 15th, 2012 1:45pm EDT
Kevin Smith
Outspoken filmmaker Kevin Smith has reignited his feud with his one-time leading man Bruce Willis, branding him the toughest person he's ever worked with.

Smith directed Willis on 2009 comedy Cop Out, but claimed soon after the film's release that he had a hard time working with him on set and labeled the former Die Hard star a "f**king d**k."

Willis tried to distance himself from the feud, insisting there was no bad blood between the pair, but Smith has fuelled the argument once more with a rant on Twitter.com.

He writes, "Who am I talking about when I write this: 'He turned out to be...

Kevin Smith Blasts Bruce Willis Over 'Cop Out' Role

January 24th, 2011 8:18am EST
Kevin Smith
Director Kevin Smith has launched a scathing attack on Bruce Willis, branding the actor "soul crushing" to work with.

The Die Hard star led the cast of Smith's 2010 comedy Cop Out, but the film was panned by critics and the moviemaker subsequently compared the scathing reviews to "bullying". Smith has now revealed he was unimpressed with the actor's attitude on set and his alleged reluctance to promote the picture.

Speaking on comedian Marc Maron's podcast, Smith says, "It was difficult. I've never been involved in a situation like that where one component is not in the box at all. It w...

Tracy Morgan: 'I Had To Be Funny'

April 7th, 2010 1:00pm EDT
Tracy Morgan
Funnyman Tracy Morgan had to be funny from an early age - to stop bullies from picking on him.

The Cop Out star grew up on the mean streets of The Bronx, New York across the street from hustler-turned-rapper Jay-Z and admits life was tough. To make matters worse he had a handicapped brother and few fighting skills.

He says, "My older brother has cerebral palsy... When the kids sometimes could be mean in the school yard and they pick on you, I couldn't go get my big brother, so I had to learn how to make the bullies laugh."

"I knew I was funny when the bullies were on my side and they ...

Kevin Smith Slams Critics Over 'Cop Out' Reviews

March 25th, 2010 9:12am EDT
Kevin Smith
Director Kevin Smith has unleashed a furious rant at critics after his new film Cop Out received a flurry of negative reviews - insisting he'd rather see members of the public give their opinion instead of "nasty" movie experts.

The comedy, starring Bruce Willis as a New York police officer, was released last month and has been slated by reviewers, with many claiming the movie is let down by a weak script, lackluster jokes and a contrived plot. Smith is fuming about the unflattering comments, insisting he feels like his film has been "bullied" - and has vowed to force critics to pay to re...

Cop Out star Seann William Scott had a taste of the best and worst of Hollywood life upon his arrival in Los Angeles from his native Minnesota - he was mugged and stripped of his shirt and shoes on his way to a Baywatch audition.

The naive star thought it would be easy to become an actor - but had no idea he'd have to audition for roles.

And his first experience was a nightmare.

He recalls, "I was like, 'Hey, I love movies, I'll be an actor...' I had no idea you had to audition to get movies. I thought when you got an agent they just hook you up with movies.

"They (agents) were lik...

Kevin Smith: 'Cop Out Is Tribute To Late Dad'

March 1st, 2010 3:40pm EST
Kevin Smith
Kevin Smith signed on to direct new comedy Cop Out as a tribute to his late father. The filmmaker's latest release stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as a pair of detectives on the hunt for a stolen collectible baseball card.

Smith admits he was reluctant to read the script at first because he was turned off by the "homoerotic" original title, A Couple of Dicks, but he realized the movie had potential when he finally picked up the plot.

He tells WENN, "In my lap came 'A Couple of Dicks,' the original title for Cop Out, which sounds really homoerotic so I didn't really take a look until...

As An Action Comedy 'Cop Out' Is The Best Of Both Worlds

February 26th, 2010 9:00am EST
Cop Out
An entertaining action film is not entirely hard to make since it does not often take a great deal of brain power to shoot gunfights and explosions. Neither is a fun comedy, because all you need is some lewd jokes to get most audiences laughing. What's much rarer however is a film that effectively blends the two genres to create an engrossing action comedy.

Kevin Smith's "Cop Out" is the best of both worlds; as a buddy cop movie, it has both action and hilarious jokes.

The plot is fairly straightforward in this film. Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis) is an average cop who has promised to pay f...

Stop In The Name Of The Law: The Best Of The Buddy Cop Genre

February 25th, 2010 9:27am EST
Cop Out
Buddy cop movies involve two characters with completely different styles - usually one by the book and a wild one with no fear. They reluctantly team up to stop a crime and become friends in the process. These two characters usually can’t stand one another in the beginning, but as time passes they begin to appreciate the other’s perspective. They blend the excitement of an action movie with the wit of comedies, creating a very entertaining experience.

In honor of the latest film in this genre, this week’s “Cop Out” starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, we're spotlighting some of our fa...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Cop Out,' 'The Crazies' & More

Cop Out
Friday I caught Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese's latest collaboration "Shutter Island." I was not blown away by it, but I did not think it was a terrible movie either. Since I have not read the novel on which it is based, I'm at a bit of a disadvantage to comment on whether it was a faithful adaptation; however as a thriller it kept me guessing for most of the film.

It does a good job of planting the seeds of doubt and conspiracy with you, as you start to piece together a series of bizarre dreams DiCaprio's character experiences. The most annoying aspect of the movie I thought ...

Smith 'tweeted' about the humiliating incident and revealed he was able to board a later Southwest flight.

And now Southwest Airline officials have publicly apologized to the "Cop Out" filmmaker.

Is Kevin Smith Looking For 'Cop Out' Publicity?

February 15th, 2010 12:12pm EST
Is Kevin Smith Looking For
Kevin Smith was conveniently kicked off of a flight over the weekend, allowing everyone in America to read his name in a paper or on a blog just in time for his new film, "Cop Out," in theaters February 26.

I'm not saying he got kicked off the flight on purpose, but perhaps his subconscious allowed him to put on the few extra pounds it took to get a pilot all riled up. Smith has flown Southwest before and never had a problem. He is currently challenging the airline to prove that he was really a safety risk, which will cost them a $10,000 donation to charity, should they fail. I would get...
